This review is for Tra Vinh Vietnamese Restaurant, Perth WA

My partner is Vietnamese (I am Australian) and this is the Vietnamese Restaurant he likes to eat at most out of the whole of Perth (we've tried quite a few). My personal favourite dish is the "Com Tam" which is delicious pork ribs, egg and a type of pate on a fluffy bed of rice all sprinkled with spring onion. It is served with spring onion soup and sliced marinated vegetables - cucumber, parsnip and carrot in a kind of vinegary marinate. The whole dish goes together very well and there are delicious flavours in the main dish. The other standout for me with Tra Vinh are the drinks. They have so many unusual drinks that most people would nener have tried. We always have the "seaweed drink" which, although very healthy, actually tastes really nice and is so refreshing. It has these unusual fruits in it and a jelly like slices which I think is tapioca. Another favourite drink is the "Che Thai" which is a sweet red bean and fruits drink with jelly. It is green in colour. They have a pinky red one that is similar but has lychee, some unusual frozen red fruit that looks like raspberry but isn't which is very unusual and has to be tried at least once. Everytime we have been there our drinks are served with crushed ice which makes them even more refreshing, especially in Summer. Also, I have never seen the place empty. It's always packed when we go there which says something. You can sit inside or out (only a couple of tables outside though) and the staff are quite friendly. I've met the manager and he's a very nice man. Would highly recommend the food and the restaurant as a whole for a very pleasant dining experience in Perth.

Approximate cost: $8-$15

This review is for Dominos Pizza, Alexander Heights WA

Last night when dinner time rolled round and the munchies hit, we decided to check out the Domino's store in Alexander Heights as we have just move into the area and hadn't sampled the local cuisine up until now. What a pleasant surprise it was to find full size pizzas starting from $9.95 and gourmet pizzas for $12.95. We decided upon the Garlic Prawn Pizza for only $12.95 and I am telling the truth when I say it was the best pizza I can ever remember eating. The prawns were big, fresh and delicious with just the right amount of garlic. The spinach and tomato was fresh and tasty and over all the flavour was ever so moreish. They had many other delicious pizza flavours for this price. For $12.95 for a pizza to feed at least two (there's two of us and we had two pieces left over for lunch today) you just can't go wrong. The staff were happy, bubbly and polite too, which is always a plus. Would highly reccommend this to any pizza fans. Appparently at lunch-time they do these pizzas even cheaper, $7.95, I believe. Ripper value and awesome taste. Will be going back for more.
