This review is for Sakura Kaiten Sushi, Melbourne VIC

Sakura Kaiten is one of the better sushi trains I have been to! Their menu is extensive and has a wide variety of options to cater for all sorts of tastes. There are 'conservative' sushi's and 'out there' sushis!

The staff are very friendly and welcoming! The are very attentive, removing plates so the bench does not become too cluttered, refilling drinks and asking if there is anything else you require.

The food is fresh and delicious, and can be made to order if needed. The prices are a little high for sushi train though.

The place itself is quite small so you need to either arrive early or make a booking! The wait can be up to an hour some nights as Sakura Kaiten is very popular!!!

I highly recommend Sakura Kaiten!!

This review is for Loaded Lizard, Mudjimba QLD

The loaded lizard is a lovely cafe close to the beach. The staff are always friendly and always happy. The atmosphere is great and the cafe seating is a good distance from the road.

The menu changes seasonally and there is always a great specials board. The menu can be a little bit limited, but the staff are always happy to alter meals to your needs. The food is fresh and always delicious.

The price is pretty average for a cafe on the sunshine coast. The takeaway part of the Loaded Lizard has closed which is a shame, but you can still get your coffee to go.

This review is for Aquarium Bakery Cafe, Northcote VIC

Aquarium cafe is a bit of a hidden gem! It is not easy to spot when driving past, but is great once you are inside!

The cafe is attached to a bookshop and has a great atmosphere and decor!

The menu is large and varied, they cater to varying dietary requirements and also have a large variety of bakery items on display.

The staff are friendly and willing to make changes to meals to suit different needs. The food is always excellent and the menu is varied and interesting. The prices are pretty standard too!

This review is for Leroy's, Newport VIC

verified email - 07 May 2013

The reason we initially went to Leroy's was because they boast a very child friendly cafe. They have two outdoor playgrounds and lots of toys! However, we were very disappointed when we arrived to see that both the outdoor areas were in the full sun, and being a hot day we could not sit outside and enjoy the play equipment as it was all over heated! There were no other patrons dining outdoors or making use of these facilities even though the cafe was very busy and there were a lot of children. Putting a shade cloth over the play areas would be a very quick and easy solution.

Despite this, the food was wonderful, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great. We were there for brunch and each member of our party was impressed with their meal and the value.

This review is for La Headquarters Cafe, Melton VIC

I love la headquarters! When I lived in Melton we ate there all the time! Admittedly I have only ever had breakfast there.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, the chef is happy to tailor the meals to your needs! You can also ask for a half size of any meal - for half the price! I have dined as a couple and also as part of a large group and never had a negative experience.

The food, staff, prices and quality are fantastic!

This review is for My Mate's Pizza & Pasta, Melton VIC

verified email - 07 May 2013

My mates pizza is very competitively priced - but you definitely get what you pay for. I try to avoid walking past My Mates due to the overwhelming smell of burnt oil that it always emits.

I tried My Mates with a group of friends, we ordered a variety of pizzas and picked them up. Each and every one of us was so disappointed! The pizzas were all oily, poorly assembled and tasted 'funny'.

The staff were friendly enough, the menu is varied but the food was just disappointing.

This review is for Coburg Drive-In (Village Cinemas), Coburg VIC

verified email - 07 May 2013

Coburg drive in is great! The have discounted nights on Mondays and Tuesdays, and a capped price per car, making it very affordable!

The screens are large and there is ample space for cars. It is set up in such a way that even if a large car or a car with a lifted boot parks in front of you, you still have full view of the screen.

The candy bar does not have as much variety as other village cinemas but they have the usual popcorn, choc tops and drinks, and also a variety of hot foods. The quality is the same as other cinemas, as are the prices.

The drive-ins are great for watching a movie in peace as you cannot normally hear other patrons talking through the movie!

This review is for Golden Grill Kebab House, Werribee VIC

verified email - 07 May 2013

Golden Grill has been around forever, so they are obviously doing something right! The menu is pretty standards - kebabs, mixed grill plates, salads, dips, desserts. You can eat in or get take away, the food is the same but the price vary by about $5.

Most of the staff are wonderful, friendly and always have happy smiles! One or two staff members are always abrupt and rude but the good staff members make up for it!

My fiance says these are the best kebabs he has ever eaten, I agree they are pretty good, but not the best I have ever had. I often get a pide or borek and some dip or a mixed grill plate, these are always fresh and tastey!

This review is for Hog's Breath Cafe, Joondalup WA

verified email - 07 May 2013

My friend and I used to go to hogs breath each fortnight for lunch on our uni days. As we became frequent diners we got 25% off our meals, meaning we could get burgers for under $10 each!

The staff are mostly very attentive and friendly, even when the restaurant is busy.

Hogs breath in general does not make the best food, the steaks are not great. However the Joondalup hogs breath was on average with other Hogs breath's I have been to. I've never had a complaint with my meal and they are happy to change meals when needed.

The staff are also great at navigating around kids! They provide colouring in and are very friendly towards children.

This review is for Kulcha Cafe & Noodle House, Joondalup WA

verified email - 07 May 2013

Kulcha is fantastic - IF you eat in! We go there all the time, the food is tasty and very reasonably priced. I have rarely seen similar food for the same prices! The menu is very large, there is a huge variety of different dishes.

The service is pretty bad, and it is always very busy and crowded, but if you go there aware of this then you won't be too disappointed!

The takeaway food is not as good as when you dine in, the food is very bland and smaller servings. The dishes are very rarely up to the same standard when getting takeaway.

I highly recommend kulcha despite its downfalls, purely for the food and great value!

Approximate cost: $10.00
