I purchased a brand new Kia Rio exactly 1 year ago from Kia Osborne Park. I have had issues with my apple car play since I purchased the vehicle and I have attended the dealership on numerous occasions to have it looked into and it’s still not fixed.

Each time I attend the dealership, I need to take time out of my day to bring the car in and when I drive away, the issue is not resolved. I couldn’t be bothered bringing it back every time so Id wait until it needed a service or if a warning light came on (I have brought the car in atleast 5 times since I purchased the car). It’s so dangerous driving with the apple car play issue as the screen drops out multiple times each time I drive and it distracts me as I have to reconnect my phone in the car settings.

On the 23/7/21, I attended the dealership as I was getting a warning light on my dash. I told them that I’m still having issues with the apple car play and I sent them video evidence of the issue (for the 2nd time) and they said they will look into it. They had my car for over 5 hours and they only looked at the car within the last hour of having my car and they didn’t sort out the issue.

I sent an email complaint on the 27/7/21 due to the apple car play issue and the service I received. I spoke to the service manager and he advised that he was so sorry that I’m still having issues nearly a year on and he will look into it. He advised there is a known issue with the apple car play (no one in service told me this at all) and that he is hoping they will have an update in a couple of weeks but they will be in touch with me once they have an update.

It’s almost been 2 months since I attended the dealership and I have not had any contact from anyone. I sent 3 emails: 1 to the service manager on the 3/9 and another to the service manager again and service department on the 8/9 and no reply. Then I decided to email the salesman who sold me the vehicle on the 11/9 and I still don’t have an update or a response.

I contacted another dealership and I explained what has happened and they were shocked with the service I have received at Osborne Park. They looked at my car and said it’s a known Kia Rio and Picanto issue and to complete the Apple iOS 15 update and get back to them if it still doesn’t work.

I did the update and it still doesn’t work!!!!! They said they can’t help at the moment and they will speak to Kia directly.

I’m so angry and upset. I have contacted consumer affairs, the motor ombudsman and I have lodged a complaint through Kia directly as I have had enough.

My vehicle is still under warranty. I have purchased a good and it’s not working like it should.

I will never go back to Osborne Park Kia and I will not recommend them anyone.

They obviously don’t care about their customer once they have made their commission! Disgusting service!
