WHAT A DISGRACE! I ate here a few days ago and witnessed the owner telling a group of women that they had saggy t*ts and flobby c**ts. I am not joking. This is the same restaurant notorious for the $10 charge if you wear thongs. While I don't disagree with the thongs, this guy is a SUPREME je*k off and for this reason should not be kept in business. The restaurant itself is beautiful though.

This little supermarket is an icon in Darwin - established in the 60's, you can buy any gourmet item that can be imagined! The guys behind the counter at the deli are fantastic, allowing you to sample cheeses and smallgoods etc so you can be certain you will enjoy your purchase! Some foods are VERY expensive but overall, those willing to pay for quality will not be disappointed!

Known around Darwin as the best Laksa in town - this place really stands true to its reputation! I always order a Laksa when dining in similar restaurants and have yet to taste one that comes close! $10 takeaway or $11 to dine in (for a chicken laksa) you are sure to be delighted!

This amazing authentic Italian restaurant makes what I believe to be the best pizza in Darwin! Not to mention the rest of the food! I must also give credit to the chef who often makes dishes for us (such as garlic prawns which regrettably) are not on the menu! They offer BYO and are also very accommodating for group bookings! They also do great lunch deals and have various portion sizes of each meal - yum!

Optus called me in October last year to reevaluate my plans. I had a new phone already and my plan was fine as it was so the operator offered my an additional $60 call credit on top of my cap, saying it was to start the following bill. THREE bills later and the credit had not been applied (despite an sms saying that it had- I used part of the credit assuming I had it to use - NO I have had to pay for those calls because apparently it takes SUCH A LONG TIME to process - for crying out loud - with today's technology? Trying to explain that I was not going to pay for something they GAVE me, that I didn't ask for to the 25 various Indian operators got me NO WHERE so I eventually got fed up and paid. I also found out that if (assuming the credit had been applied correctly) I had called $61 over my normal cap I would have had to pay the whole lot on top! CAN YOU IMAGINE!?

This review is for Evoo Restaurant, Darwin NT

WOW! I have been twice now and I am amazed by the food each time! Evoo has recently been awarded the Northern Territory's Best Restaurant and Best Hotel Restaurant in the prestigious Gold Plate Awards for 2009 and the wall is filled with awards from previous years - I know why!

I always like to know what will be arriving on my plate when I order because I am picky and scared to try new things and with Evoo there is always an ingredient I know nothing about or have doubts about in each meal- however - I have always been pleasantly surprised, more so to see the meals I have written off because of some strange sounding addition arrive elsewhere on the table - everything always looks delicious - and IS! Its not cheap to eat there, in fact it is probably the most expensive restaurant in Darwin but absolutely worth it! The service is impeccable, the cutlery and crockery is of the finest quality and the meals are to die for - in particular the deserts! Order the crepes and have them flambeed at your table!

This review is for Aschara Thai Cuisine Restaurant & Cafe, CULLEN BAY NT

verified email - 18 Feb 2010

This dining experience was frustrating and annoying from the start. My father had just arrived in Darwin and wanted to eat at a good restaurant so my partner and I took him to Cullen Bay because the area is filled with renown Darwin restaurants. To its credit, Aschara was one of only two restaurants open at 5pm on a Saturday! Here is how it went down...
1. We order drinks - my Gin and Tonic arrives (10 minutes after everyone elses drinks) with flat tonic so I reorder - and wait 25 minutes (please note we are the only patrons at the restaurant at this time).
2. We order our meals (an agonising feat as the waitress barely speaks English)- I order a serve of vegetarian spring rolls and an entree sized chicken laksa with no noodles. MY spring rolls are served for all to share as an entree and are infact MEAT springrolls.
3. My laska then arrives WITH noodles - no one elses food is served.
4. I am long finished with my meal before anyone else at the table is served.
5. We order more drinks and wait while they are served over a half hour period.

Overall the food was average but with so many mistakes in service - I was not a happy chappy at the end of the night!
