I used to go to the Loxton show every year as a child growing up in the township. Now i return as often as possible to take my children. Held in October every year, its a great family day out. Gates are open at 8.30 am, so its an early start. Prices are great too. Starting at $3.50 for kids, $5.50 for students or pensioners and $9.00 for adults. Much cheaper than a city show. A far better atmosphere than the big city shows, its more relaxed and far more enjoyable. apart from the obvious, not as crowded, the country feel to the Loxton Show is what brings us back time and time again. I find that there are more arts and crafts available, and the prize pavillion, is a must see. From flower to paintings, cakes and Jams, chickens to dogs. First prize blue ribbons are everywhere. Its lovely to see that there is so much talent within this country local area. The usual show rides are available in side show alley, but the Gravitron is there every year and i just cant resist. So much junk food to eat, you will leave with a very full belly... Or maybe not if you go on the wrong ride. This was a relaxed family day, without the crowding of the city and therefore much less stressful. We had a fantastic time, the kids of course got their show bags. I was happy to just wander around and soak up the great country fresh air and sunshine.

What a lovely park to stay in. Right on the riverfront, which is perfect for a walk along the beautiful River Murray. Swimming right at your doorstep. If you enjoy skiing and have a speedboat , Its a beautiful part of the river to do so. The caravan Park has accomodation for all budgets, ranging from self contained cabins, powered van sites as well as powered and non powered tent sites. In the cabins all linen is supplied, but if towels are needed you only need to ask. the BBQ area is clean and very well looked after, and a great place to meet other campers. The park is very well equipt for kids, having a great playground just across from the park. Canoe hire, basketball and 9 hole golf all part of the service. The kiosk stocks most basic needs including ice and gas. No pets are allowed, so you have to leave your furry friend at home.Pricing varies from $25/night for unpowered, $30/night powered up to $100/night for the biggest cabin. This is based an two kids and two adults

i used to go here with my parent when i was a child. I recently returned with my children, and it was great. Bsaed in a small country town, there is no better atmosphere that a country club. You get to meet the locals, have a chat and a damn good laugh. We met some really nice characters. Being in a small town, it is one of the local top spots, and they have a DJ nightclub on Friday nights. This is extremely popular. Adelaide DJ's also play regularly. The dining room, has a great feel to it, the locals make you feel really welcome. And the staff are just fantastic.tThe club is open 7 days a week, and have meal specials for most days. Thursday night is "family night" where if you buy two adult meals, kids under twelve eat free. the meals are great, the atmosphere is fabulous and you will really have a memorable visit

This review is for Loxton Historical Village, Loxton SA

The Loxton Historical Village has been in business ever since i can remember, I went there as a child as i lived in Loxton. I recently returned with my own children, and it is still every bit as amazing as it was years ago. An entire village based around the late 1890's,gives you the feeling that you have literally stepped back in time. It gives a real feel for how the first riverland settlers lived. All up there is about 30 buildings, ranging from the old school house, bank, blacksmith, shearing sheds, barber shop and a replica of "Loxtons Hut". All the buildings are as they would have been long ago, with alot of the equiptment still functional. this amazing place is a great way to educate the kids of today on how life used to be. Several times a year they hold special event days, which volunteers dress up, and the village really comes alive. The offer school tours for an educational visit, on which they have damper making, mud brick making, and many pioneer games. within the village there is a small general store where souvineers , and snacks can be bought. special functions can also be booked which are fully catered for. Prices start at $6 kids, $10.50 conc, $12 adults and $32 family. my family had a wonderful time here and it certainly brought back child hood memories for me. This place is a Must visit.

This business has been running since i was a kid, i used to live in loxton. Now its the only place to buy the greatest pizza in the riverland. Everytime we visit, we always make a point of stopping in to buy dinner. The lawned area in the middle of the main street has public tables, so we relax and eat there. The owners, David and Paul Unferdorben, are old school colleagues. and its always great to see them again. As well as pizzas they also sell wonderful BBQ chickens and all the usual take away foods. Freshly made sandwiches are also a favourite if you want a slightly healthier option. the dine in facilities are great for a meal, or just a coffee and to sit and watch the local life.

This review is for DELUXE CAR SALES, Reynella SA

I recently went looking for a new car, I searched through all of the larger car yards and a majority of what i was after was either way overpriced or in bad condition. Then i came across Deluxe Car Sales. I found the car i wanted. Low kilometers and in great condition. Brenton was great, allowed me to test drive for the whole afternoon. Most car yards will only allow a short time, and within a 10 km radius. The car was interstate plated, so they organised it to be changed over and had a full roadworthy done. my car was in a 1 condition, and about $2,000 cheaper than what i had seen elsewhere. They gave me a great trade in price for my little hyundai, better than i expected. I found this car yard to have a great prices, good quiality cars, and are honest .

I was introduced to this wonderful service by a childrens party my daughter attended. all the little girls had such a wonderful time. they really made it a fun and memorable day. Queen Birthday Fairy and the fairy assistant were lovely and the interaction with the children shows they really love what they do.The birthday girl got a special gift and a fairy crown, the guests all got fairy dust and a gift bag to take home. Prices are pretty good, and they have a couple of party options to choose from ranging from $120 for 12 children, up to $320 for 12 children. Well worth the money as all the hastle is taken care of, including all the activities. AND NO MESS FOR MUM TO CLEAN UP

This review is for Lonsdale Sand & Metal, Lonsdale SA

i had a play frame installed in my yard for the kids,it included a huge sand pit and climbing frames. I knew roughly what i needed to make this play area safe. The guys at Lonsdale Sand and Metal were great. i never knew there were so many different sorts of sand. They explained that i needed "sand pit sand", which is half brickies sand and half white wash sand. They also recomended "soft fall" for underneath the play equiptment, to make sure the kids had a soft landing if they fell. They even worked out how much i needed by the size of the area to be covered. As a woman, i dont know about these things and these guys were fantastic. It worked out far cheaper than buying by the bag from the hardware store. they even organised delivery for the next day. These guys stock all your garden needs, for small right through to huge jobs.

This review is for Yiros King, Reynella SA

Ive been coming here for years, and they do infact sell the best yiros. Very busy on a weekend, so i guess that shows the popularity. i am particularly fond of the Yiros hot pack. Its served with hot vegies, and quite a large serving. i usually have left overs for lunch the next day. they close a bit early too, so you need to be early. Staff are always friendly, and make you feel welcome

This review is for Rana Tandoori Indian Restaurant, South Plympton SA

verified email - 21 Aug 2013

Up until just recently i had never tried indian food as i dont like anything too hot or spicy. A girlfriend convinced me to try Rana's one day after shopping, and im glad i did. The chicken korma curry and saffron rice was no where near as hot as i expected it to be. I loved it. Staff were great at recommending what i had due to me not liking really spicy food. I have only tried their meals once, but i am keen to try others. They offer specials on Tuesdays, and lunch specials everyday.
