I had my first baby at NP 4 months ago. They were amazing. Every midwife was so gentle, helpful and caring. I will be going there for my next children too.

The only thing that I would have liked was a consultation with a lactation consultant at the beginning of my stay.

My little mate had trouble latching so I ended up having to pump. I was not sized for the flanges and as a result of the initial latch issues and the wrong size flanges from the pump I sustained significant nipple damage which took months to get on top of.

I ended up booking an appointment with Kathy, their lactation consultant, and she was AMAZING! She sized me correctly for the pump flanges and showed me how to use it correctly.

My only recommendation would be, I think all mothers who want to breastfeed should be seen by Kathy/ lactation consultant in their first few days of their stay at NP.
If this was the practice, it would have saved me months of battling nipple trauma, mastitis and thrush.
