I regularly get a shellac polish at my salon in Chatswood but was visiting Bondi Junction last week so stopped by to get a removal and repolish. Omg. Seriously the worst experience of my life. First of all the technician sanded down my cuticles with vigour when she was meant to be concentrating on my nails. Just didn't seem to be aware of the immense pain she was causing! They use pincers to remove old polish - bizarre and made me feel uncomfortable... Especially when she pinched the middle of my nail rather than just the polish. Ouch - I couldn't help jumping. Then she literally filed and scratched my cuticle - no concept of the pain she was causing. Worst part was when my nails went under the UV lamp and it felt like my nail beds were on fire. I consulted a beautician friend and when too much gel is applied in a careless way it can cause pain! Who knew?! All in all, the worst experience. Please protect yourself and avoid this salon!
