Several years ago my 6 year old very healthy cat suddenly got sick, after spending $6000 he had to be put to sleep.

After this, I decided I needed to get Pet Insurance for my dogs, not believing they would even become unwell.

A year or so later, one of my dogs abdomens became enlarged overnight. Through going to several vets, and a mountain of tests after tests she has a diagnosis and is on medication to control her illness. She will be on this for the rest of her life. The Insurer will cover this condition up to $10,000.

Overall I believe the Vet bills for the dog have gone over $2000 so far, I have paid my excess of $200 plus 20% of the total, which has made things SO MUCH EASIER. Plus premiums are affordable!

Dealing with the Insurer has been relatively good also. There were a few times where the wait times were utterly RIDICULOUS and a few claims were processed incorrectly but most of the staff are fantastic and sort it out easily.

Definitely recommend this company!

My dog became ill late year very suddenly so I went to Lort Smith and got several tests done. I was brushed off and told to just leave it, take her home and do NOTHING, despite her very enlarged abdomen. They refused to let me pay them off as I claimed from my Pet Insurer.

Naturally I couldn't do nothing as her liver was enlarged, and eventually found Prahran Vet Clinic on Google.

Nicole Hoskin has been absolutely fantastic to my dog and I. She listens to your concerns about small changes in behaviour, etc. My dog had many tests, which Nicole let me pay off! PHEW.

Finally we found out that my dog has Cushings Syndrome, and is now successfully on medication, and doing well.

To my surprise Prahran Vet actually aren't more expensive than vets in other suburbs. For many of the tests they were far cheaper.
