They have this fire in the middle of their restaurant which is a nice touch. It got very busy, and there are not enough car parks. The food was pretty good. I think there are too many tables in the restaurant - too crouded, and we had a pram and had to navigate around the tables as they had sat us right at the back (even though we booked ahead and booked a highchair, so commonsense should have told them we'd probably need a little room).
Approximate cost: $25
I don't like seafood, but we had to go here for a work Christmas do, and the food was lovely. Everyone ended up getting these great big platters of seafood to share and we were unadventurous and only got posh fish and chips. It was lovely. The views are great, but beware it can be cold walking down to the end of the pier to get there.
Approximate cost: $40
The food here is great, so is the service. It can be busy, so booking is a good option, and noise levels can get high, but still very much worth going to - it's my favourite chinese restaurant.
Approximate cost: $25
Very nice food, but can be costly. Good range of beers - some are strange, which makes it fun, as you try all the different ones you've never even heard of.
We just wanted a chocolate mud cake (two tiered and decorated with fresh flowers) for our wedding cake, and the people at better bake were able to provide us with one. The cake was delicious, and they were very well priced. They offered to decorate it in a number of ways, but were very happy to use fresh flowers. It looked beautiful on the night and they delivered to the city, during very strict times (the zoo only allows drop offs at a certain time in the morning) and they were still very accommodating.
Approximate cost: $200
Amy did my make up and the bridesmaids for my wedding. She is super friendly, flexible, and reliable. Her prices are good and she also does nails, killing two birds with one stone. she provides mobile service which is convenient. She is also well trained in colour matching etc.
Approximate cost: $50-80
This dj did our wedding and was very organised. Everything was done over the phone before hand (although he can come to you and do it in person) and he is moderately priced. Very experienced, knows music from all ages (I was surprised at some of the music he did know, as our taste was quite alternative).
we used these guys for our wedding and the service was great. The florist really knew what to ask and put the flowers together beautifully. for the wedding party, we only paid about $450, so the price was good too.
we were able to have our ceremony, photos and reception at the zoo, which was convenient. They have a dedicated wedding co-ordinator, and she is lovely. The food was brilliant, and everyone raved about how good it was afterwards, probably because they had never been to a zoo wedding before (and they also got the zoo tour during the wedding photos), and the cost was quite good.
Approximate cost: $75 per head
We bought a house through these guys, and they were very friendly, and understanding when things went a little off course during the process. what impressed me the most is that at the end, instead of giving the usual bottle of wine as a gift, they bought us a park bench, which was a personal touch since we bought a house with a sunroom. I think they were great.
