We went to The Grain Store for a work lunch. I would have liked more gluten free options to choose from, it seemed most meals had some sort of pasta or noodles, but I chose the beef cheeks, which was with vegetables, and it was delicious. The service was ok, meals came out quickly too considering how many were at our table. They had drinks from Daylesford, which I thought was a great touch.
These are the best donuts I have tried! I found their little pop up in Westfield, and tried one of their strawberry cheesecake donuts, yum! I later found out you can order them with a couple of the delivery services, so I did that, and you can get a mixed box of all sorts of filled donuts. I’m a huge fan! The filled sort cost $6 each, which are my favourite. You can get a box of 6 donuts for $30.

Now that Belmont Hotel’s bistro has been renovated I am loving it! I found previously that the room had terrible acoustics, just a few tables full and the whole room was so noisy. The new Art Deco renovation is absolutely beautiful. I love the wall paper and furniture choice. And the food, yum!!! Get the salmon, best on the menu in my opinion.
I love places that do all day breakfast. The service if friendly. The selection is great for a small cafe. Their chips and gravy is my favourite. The chunky home made sausage rolls are great too.
I love the atmosphere and you always walk out with your hair styled beautifully with an on trend style rather than just a blow wave and straighten like most places do.
I love this place! I have ordered takeaway Japanese food here a number of times. The staff remember you when you are a regular, and they remember what I like. They even created a dish for me when I liked the sound of two and couldn’t decided, they combined what I liked from each. They bring you a bowl of prawn crackers to eat while you wait for your food. You can get Chinese, Japanese and sushi. I have always been happy, and the prices are great!
This place has some really nice booth seating, but all of these had reserved signs, even though no one sat at any of them the whole time we were there. Our table was a bit squashed, and the whole place seemed a bit strange with a three tier fish tank sitting empty as a feature along the wall. The food was ok, but the biggest annoyance to me was them not splitting bills. It really annoying to only spot the sign after you have eaten, and no one has cash. I’ll stick with my regular place.
I ordered takeaway tonight. I was looking forward to crispy deep fried chicken with plum sauce but unfortunately they poured the plum sauce all over the chicken rather than providing it in a separate container, so what I got was more like very soggy chicken all clumped together. They did have really nice spring rolls and prawn toast though.
Spent New Year’s Eve at Black Salt where they did a seven course meal. The food was delicious, I look forward to going back there for a meal. We sat right at the front so had a fantastic view of the fireworks at 9 and again at midnight.
9 of us went here for a work lunch, and most of us ordered steaks. I had the scotch fillet, and it was cooked exactly how I wanted it. I had two different sauces and seasonal vegetables, other options were mash, surf and turf and various other sides and toppers. The dinning area could use and update, but overall it was really good.
