I would not recommend this company. This would have to be the worst relocation experience I have had. Trancorp sub-contract the removal out, and it turns out, the subcontractors then subcontract again. There appears to be no quality checks in place. Move was from Canberra to Melbourne. My goods were picked up at 9.15pm on a Sunday night! I had attempted to contact the driver Saturday afternoon (when I had not received a call to confirm pick up time as advised by the office on Friday) to get an ETA for Sunday with a one word response of “afternoon”. When I asked what time in the afternoon, the response was “2 h (hour I can only assume) notice”. By 5pm Sunday I made several attempts to contact the driver. When I finally got through at 6.15pm he told me he was on the Gold Coast and I could confirm this with the police which I thought was a bizarre response and panicked that I had been scammed as my credit card details had been provided and the cost debited. I said I was calling in regards to my Transcorp removal and he said he wasn’t the Driver but he had someone else called [Removed name] who worked for him and would be my Driver. I then received a call from someone from the same number saying he was [Removed name] however when I said had just spoken with [Removed name] and he did not sound the same (based on the fact this person could hardly speak English) he told me to have a good night and hung up. I attempted to call a number of the out of hours- number, finally getting onto [Removed name] who was no help, spoke over the top of me, and couldn’t confirm if my items would be picked or when. After several phone calls trying to get a resolution I then asked for a refund. I was told I had to call [Removed name] which I did, however he said he was at dinner and told me to send an email and he would call me back the next day. No one seemed to know if my items were going to be picked up at all and no one seemed to care that at 8pm at night I couldn’t get an answer. When the removalists finally turned up at 9.15pm they had no tools to disassemble the bed – an item I had to pay an additional $264 for when booking the move. Further they didn’t wrap the mattress and when it arrived in Melbourne it was marked and dirty. The bed frame was left in one piece and of course, the legs were broken on arrival. There were also several glasses broken in the move. I had to chase [Removed name] for follow up the next day as he did not call as promised and when I attempted to call, sent an email saying he was busy. I asked for reimbursement of the $264 paid for assembly and disassembly of the bed which he agreed to, and a token $200. I am still chasing the broken and damaged items despite purchasing insurance through Transcorp… phone calls and emails have not been responded to. I choose Trancorp based on their awards and being an ARFA member, as ARFA members would cover mattresses, would have staff that bring tools with them, and would provide a much better level of customer services than I have experienced with Transcorp! Removals are stressful enough and customers do not need further complications from a provider who obviously does not care.

Approximate cost: $1200
