Last minute decisions led me to come back to this place.
Since my last review from 2009, this place has reviewed their prices at least, but that's about it. They have sauces (with the steaks) that don't taste of anything. We got the mushroom sauce, while our friend got the shiraz jus. It was so tasteless that we sent back the mushroom sauce and opted for the shiraz jus. It was better, but still lifeless.
The steaks were just bland and fried. I can do that at home! Why do I need to go to a restaurant for something I could make better at home! Oh, and the snake beans... They're as long as a snake and they don't bother cutting them. They say it's for effect and presentation. Bollocks to this. No one at our table liked this aspect.
Drinks they have enough of, so no complaints there.

Never again. That's 2 chances. There won't be a third

This is one of those great fine dining restaurants where no one is made to feel unwelcome. I went for an anniversary with my family and my grandparents were shown wonderful respect by the staff, despite not understanding a couple of things on the menu. The good thing about this menu is that it has some exciting and adventurous dishes but also some classics like fish and chips. The food, service and atmosphere was impeccable.

For the price you're paying, there damned better be good food and service. This wasn't lacking. But still, we were amazed by the prices they were charging!
The 3 of us had steaks and drinks and the bill came to about $180. Luckily for me I had the Entertainment Book vouchers. Still, over $40 for a steak. Who in their right of mind can really command that type of price for a steak in Adelaide?
Definitely a once off till they improve their prices. And I can't see me going back anytime soon to check on it!
If anyone goes, can you let me know if the prices have come down recently?
