After many years of being under a 3 contract I was disappointed with their service and unwillingness to value me as their long term customer. I went to Optus and found them much better
Approximate cost: $49 Cap
my son had a prepaid sim card with 3 as they were the only ones who had a $29 cap that lasted for 3 monthe. i actually went to some trouble to get a 3g phone when he lost his only to find out that they changed it to last 30 days like everyone else. we changed to TPG who have the best value deals on the market.
The plan seemed alright at the time, but the after-sale service left plenty of room for improvement. No mention of the poor coverage in the area either, and it's in the suburbs.
I have a plan with them and I have had it for about 1 and a half years. The plan was pretty good at the time but now most of my mates are paying less then me but getting more credit so i am a bit disapointed about that.
Approximate cost: $29 per month
The work performed included purchases of mobile phone plans and prepaid include service repair and network upgrading
Approximate cost: $3000
I had been with three for last 3 yr. Had a great phone with cheap price. Customer service is average. Sometime have to wait in queue but calling rate and keep in touch with 3 network is a great offer.
I have very mixed feelings about 3 mobile. I love their cap plans and the quality of their mobile phones. My mum lives i Alice Springs and i speak to her every night and never go over my $49 cap plan. The call allowance is the best ive seen. However, should anything go wrong or should you have a question it takes forever to get your answer, you either have to line up in store and wait up to 3 hours one time or you have to call up and wait on hold for a phone call that you're normally paying for. Every time i have called 3 they have told me to sort it out in store. Which has meant waiting on hold only to wait in line in store. Not overly impressed
I'm in a basic older mobile plan with 3, at $10 a month minimum spend. Not once has there been any hassle or problem with this provider! Bills arrive via email, I pay and nothing could be simpler. Been with them for about 6 years and hope they stay the same as I am very happy with them.
Approximate cost: $10

I am not sure whether I have commented on this firm before or not. A person I know who runs his own small business was approached by 3 mobile with what he thought was a great deal. After 4 days he discovered via a call on his landline the faxes that he still wasn't connected. (He thought it was strange he hadn't received any calls) It meant he had potentially lost about 15 - 20 jobs a day with a gross in the range of $3000.00. Take note I said gross. He changed back to Optus and was connected within 2 hours. He cancelled his contract with "3" and was threatened with being charged with breach of contract. As far as he was concerned "3" breached it by not connecting him within the time stated. He also told them that he had lost at least what the contract was worth in lost income, so not to bother or he would sue them for loss of income. They hounded him for months to re-join them. He's not that foolish to do so and risk his livelihood and his family's again.
He eventually demanded to speak to the sales manager and explained the situation to him. He was told off for demanding to speak to him.
Had my friend not been harrassed every week for months he would not have done so. He got another call a week or so later and told them if they called him again he was going to lodge a complain with the Telecommunications Ombudsman. They got the hint and stopped calling him.
