ABT Advance Behavioural Training

My dog Justice was bitten several times at Playcare on 11 June 2014 and the owner said staff did not see Justice get bitten and were not aware of his injuries. I discovered two separate puncture wounds (neck and back), a slightly torn ear and bite marks on the back of his neck (as verified by the clinical notes from two different vets), after I got home with him that night.

Whilst I have been reimbursed for more than $300 in vet bills by ABT, everything else about the way the owner has handled this situation has, in my opinion, been very distressing and woefully inadequate. The owner has said that as her staff did not witness Justice being bitten and she believes his injuries are the result of normal puppy play, despite having provided her with photos of the injuries and the clinical notes from both the emergency vet and our regular vet. Justice was also prescribed antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and pain relief by the vets because of the nature of the wounds.

I had been a loyal client of ABT for more than 2 years prior to this incident and have invested more than $3000 in behaviour and training services with them in that time. ABT did do a great job of helping Justice to overcome his fear of other dogs and I am devastated that his fear and old behaviours have resurfaced as a result of being bitten at Playcare. I am equally upset that, despite our long history with ABT, the owner did not offer any kind of advice, support or assistance to help Justice recover from this huge set back, until she invited me to me contact her if I need any help in the future. I feel that this offer was disingenuous, coming 11 days after the incident and almost 48 hours after I left a negative review on her Facebook business page. I am afraid that as a result of this incident and the unprofessional, dismissive way that I feel we have been treated, I am no longer comfortable recommending ABT to any dog owner.

The staff were very supportive and caring which made it a nice experience for me and my dog.
Their training methods are gentle and when you learn the right way to train your dog it is so easy.

i found this to go really well with the ways my dog acts, ever since hes been going here, he's behaving better, and actually listening along with not teering up everything in my back yard.. now i dont know if it the people here, or maybe he's meet a lady pup ;)

This pet training business is both professional & 'animal loving' (i.e. it is well run - but the owners love animals first & foremost). To my mind this is a good thing.

The facility is well set up, the class sizes about right and the training exercises fun.

One clear area for improvement is that the trainers need to project their voices more due to the large warehouse space (sometimes it is difficult to hear what they are saying).

My wife and I are happy with this service & their care for our puppy and do not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Very professional and experience dog behavioural trainer. Almost as good as ceaser Milan. I've taken several of my dogs here before and she helps them all very well. My dogs are all very obedient and calm now. They previously had behavioural issues and would bark all the time. But Amy is very patient with them and she definitely knows wat she's doing. However bit pricey!

Amy is a very good trainer, especially for dogs with behavioural issues. She does one on one consultations and group classes for dogs with behavioural issues. Our dog has been seeing Amy for over two years now. At the beginning Amy could not get anywhere near him without him getting upset. He now happily accepts treats from her. Amy adapts her approach to suit the dog's behaviour. She often uses her dogs with training - something which has been very beneficial for our dog as he has learnt how to act properly and her dogs will tell him off if he misbehaves. Amy also offers obedience and trick dog classes etc. Amy is very professional and caring.

Amy and her wonderful staff go above and beyond all expectations with their dedication and caring ways helping us all to have happy well mannered dogs.

Fanatastic classes, teaching alot to you and your dog. Great instructor who are helpful and encouraging. Will defeintly keep using ABT throughout the life of my dog as they offer such a wide variety or traning classes and fun activities helping creating bond between you and your best friend.

Very friendly staff that pays a lot of attention to all kind of dogs and are willing to understand each one of them to ensure a top notch quality service!

Enjoyed every minute of training. Met a wonderful trainor, people and of course dogs. The set up is great for dogs and a happy environment for dogs to learn and socialize with other dogs.

My friends's dog was trained there. They were very happy about the outcome. The dog became much more settled and never attack the other small dog at home.

The best training we have found. The instructor is so good, down to earth, very supportive and offers great tips as well as helping both us and our dog. Our dog loves the classes and we look forward to them as well. I have never enjoyed dog training before, it was just a chore that needed to be done. Now we actively seek to extend both ourselves and our dog. And, to top it all off the classes are held indoors rather than outside in all types of weather. Small classes means everyone gets their share of individual attention. I am delighted this training school was recommended to us and even more delighted to let others know how successful they are.

We started out with an out of control Dalmatian puppy who was on the verge of causing WWIII in our home. One 1on1 session with ABT and we were able to start understanding the issues and get things back to a manageable level. Since then he has gone on to complete three levels of obedience training and we passed the Delta Canine Good Citizen exam, all with ABT's tutelage, help and support (especially appreciated when things went wrong!). Now Zeus has shown promise as an agility dog, ABT are helping him achieve his potentials there. A fully supportive, flexible, dynamic team, when you train with ABT, you become part of the ABT family, because the support and involvement doesn't stop when the training does either, with various fun training and group outings, their commitment is for life.

ABT has helped me train my dogs to be well behaved members of the family, Amy and Jas are the best of trainers i have learnt lots on how dogs behave. I now only trust them with my dogs training and not only that but my dogs love going there and trust Amy and Jas. i have recommended them to lots of people and will continue doing so :). The trainers at ABT are friendly and professional. Amy has helped my dog become less anxious and has given me lots of sound advice regarding training and even pet products.

great experiance I have enjoyed every part of my training with Amy, Jasmyn & Melita .From teaching my dogs good manners to the Trick training classes ,both my dogs are excited to go to every class and learn new things these girls are awesome and I highly recommend them .Sharon, Blitzen & Ava.

We are having a great time training our GSD with Amy and Jasmyn. Doing level 3 now and could not want better training or service from them. I have my own business and understand how quality and service grows your business, not advertising, and these girls have taken that to another level. ABT provide both classes and individual training based on positive reinforcement methodology. The trainer is also a vet nurse so can provide advise on all your dog needs.
