I severely dislocated my right shoulder in Jan 2013. I'm a painter by trade and play cricket. I'm also right handed. Which left me wondering if i could ever paint properly and for long durations again. Playing cricket was also possibly out of the question. With Matthew Cleary's advice, knowledge and ability to physically help me recover with treatments and him educating me on maintaining my shoulder with corrective exercises etc. I've been able to paint full time and play cricket with no issues at all. I attended Advanced Myotherapy with a left hip issue which had prevented me from running further than 5km for a number of months. After my initial appointment with Murray, my hip immediately felt better and I was able to run with a significantly less amount of discomfort in my left hip and leg. Murray also provided valuable advice on appropriate stretching techniques and how to use a roller at home - all of which has contributed to the improvement in my leg.I have since been back three times and after each visit, my leg has felt better. I feel more confident that I will be able to return to my distance running in the very near future.

Murray is my Superhero! I went in to get relief from tension headaches that I have been suffering from for around 10 years, but have been getting worse over the last 18 months & 4 sessions in Murray’s fixed that, plus my knee pain, lower back pain, hip pain, leg pain and shoulder pain. A lot of my stiffness and pain is caused by an inherited auto immune disorder called HLA-B27 and 2 weeks after my 1st session at Advance Myotherapy my Dr. told me it looks like I also have Reiter’s Syndrome (just waiting on one more test but not looking good). My Dr. told me my future will probably be full of anti inflammatories, cortisone injections and antibiotics. Needless to say I was devastated about the news. My Myo sessions have been a great de-stressor during this time and the results have given me an incredible feeling of hope that I can take back control over my symptoms and that I can live an active and drug free life. I’ve tried various therapies for over 18 years trying to stay drug free as much as possible, such as Chiro, Osteo, Muscular Skeletal, Bowen & Pilates but none of them hit the spot. None of the therapist’s had the understanding of the body like Murray does. He’s a fantastic listener and picks up on everything I say no matter how small. He’s found deep pain and tightness I have learnt to live with and forgot to tell him about, some I’ve lived with for 18 years such as my hips and legs! In a few minutes years of pain is released. Murray is incredible! I initially presented with acute pain and very limited mobility in my neck related to cervical disc bulges. 3 sessions later, not only has a lot of my pain gone and I have regained mobility but I have received coaching in ways to improve my posture to help resolve future problems.

I was born with scoliosis and have suffered with limited mobility and impaired ability to carry out many day to day activities since childhood. Advanced Myotherapy have help me regain confidence in my mobility in tailoring a self care plan around my condition. I would happily recommend them to anyone.

Both of Advanced Myotherapy's books Self Care Medicine & The Sacred Psychology of Healing are incredibly inspirational! These guys offer so much insight and understanding and I can only hope that many get the benefit of discovering them. I will never look at life the same. I feel like a new person!
