Abysmal service - buyer beware - allianz home insurance

Made a claim for our bathroom ceiling that caved in during thunderstorms in Jan 2024
6 weeks later and after a parade of tradespersons through our property, we have been denied
The excuse they have given is that the roof tiles in this section of the roof are not placed correctly
Our roof was restored a few years ago and we have no large trees or shrubs that cause any damage to the roof
How can a 5 bedroom house fully tiled, have one section of tiles not placed correctly ?
Seems like another insurance nightmare and cop out
Definitely did not expect this from a company like Allianz
Have been paying home insurance premiums for 20+ years and this is our first claim ever
Stay away from Allainz - these are not people you can trust or rely on
We are a single income family already doing it tough and now after paying tens of thousands on insurance premium, we now have to fork out over $10k to fix this issue that is clearly stormwater damage

I had a very bad experience. I had a travel claim from an international trip. They are excellent in avoidance tactics..and will go to extremes not to reimburse expenses. I do not recommend any travel insurance company that uses Allianz. please read the fine print.

I have had my car insurance with Allianz for over 12 mths now. I had previously been with RACV and found them over priced and they lacked customer service. Allianz are completely different, more value for money, extras that I was initially covered for (windscreen breakage & hire car) and they are always so lovely to speak to on the phone. I have placed one claim through no fault of my own and it was processed promptly. Very happy customer!

Have recently insured the car and would highly recommend. Very easy and hassle free and the price was great cheapest around.Have recommend to family which have now also changes there insurance to Allianz.

Have had my car insured with Allianz for over 10 years. Luckily only had to make one claim during this time last year. I returned to my car in a shopping centre car park to find someone had reversed their car into mine leaving all my front grill smashed and a big hole right through my radiator from the tow bar. I still had to pay the standard excess because I had no information on the person at fault. But still, within half an hour of reporting the incident and advising them I really needed my car for my cancer treatment sessions, a hire car firm rang me to organise a car. And because of my illness, they even dropped it around to my house within 2 hours of ringing Allianz. Wow I was really chuffed as I had no other way of picking up the hire car. Allianz even rang me every second day keeping me updated as to its progress. And when I went to pick up the car, the whole car had been detailed inside and out. They really made a situation that could of stressed me out so stress-free . Can't thank them enough ...

favourable settlement of H+C Flood claim, they were somewhat considerate to my Brian injury difficulties which complicated the process, I feel they tried to ensure a settlement fairly without need to challenge and delay full recovery. Not at all impressed by their Restoration Service Quantum = very poor, see other review.

Have always used this company and never had any problems. claims were always done quickly. the rates have stayed stable and not gone up lots like other insurance companies

My family and I changed over to Allianz from RACV and AMMI many years ago and are seriously considering to change back. I have had to make a couple of claims with Allianz for car accidents, both of which were not my fault. They did make the claims easy but very slow. They are expensive even though I've a rating one and had no accidents through fault of my own. Wouldn't recommend to my friends.

I have been insured with Allianz for many years, and always shop around for a better price when my renewal is due and they are the most competitive. I had one claim and they were extremely efficient. I am very happy with Allianz.

Although I've never had to make a claim, I stick with Allianz for my Ute and Horse Float insurance as they give me the best deal around.

I'm not sure how many reviewers have actually had to make a claim through Allianz, but their service leaves a lot to be desired. We made a claim for a stolen car over the phone, provided them with all the necessary information/documents and heard nothing from them for weeks. When we contacted them to see what was going on all they could tell us was that the claim was being processed. Very poor service, with no care for their customers. I've switched straight away.

Took 7 months to "approve" the necessary items covered under my insurance. Had to keep calling and eventually only got the approval once I threatened to take them to small claims as I knew that the items were definitely covered under my insurance. This delay caused additional loss to me in loss of rent as I could not make the repairs to my property.

I have insured my car with Allianz for many years.
i have never had a problem with them at all.
I have compared my price with NRMA and NRMA can't beat the price on my car insurance.
I would insure my car with Allianz but with my car's green slip I will shop around, you don't get any discounts on your green slip if you have your car insured w/ them which is a shame in my opinion.

Excellent value for money, has the longest new for old out of the insurers we looked at and many other extras included in the price. Although it is not the cheapest, as we bought a new car it is worth the money.

Our company has had to deal with a few workers compensation issues and Allianz workers compensation has been great at making the process alot easier for us to handle. they are quick to take the claim and make the process quick in order to get the worker back on their feet and back at work as fast as possible.

Allianz are easy to deal with. Customer service is really good. No fuss when needing to make a claim. They pretty much took care of everything. Even negotiated costs when renewals came around!

Had business insurance with Allianz for a business vehicle. Premiums did rise a fair bit as vehicle was used at night for a bread run and hit a couple of kangaroos. They were very good and quick when it came to getting the vehicle repaired etc. Had extra insurance for no claim bonus protection but then found out limited protection and also extra for hire vehicle if needed and when needed found out didn't cover all hire costs.

The excess for their Landlords Insurance product is rather higher than that of other insurers I have received quotes from, however the overall premium was very competitive.

Switched from Western QBE because their premiums were about $200 a year cheaper per car. My wife recently had an accident and one phone call to pay the excess ws all it took, no fuss, no worries and did not loose our no claim bonus. You can taylor your own policy on line before you buy as well.
