I'm not sure how many reviewers have actually had to make a claim through Allianz, but their service leaves a lot to be desired. We made a claim for a stolen car over the phone, provided them with all the necessary information/documents and heard nothing from them for weeks. When we contacted them to see what was going on all they could tell us was that the claim was being processed. Very poor service, with no care for their customers. I've switched straight away.
I grew up with Kurtz Hair cuts, and have always found them professional, with good quality cuts and nice friendly service. They'll often accommodate you without an appointment and the prices are very fair.

Great family owned business that reminds you what real customer service actually is. They're always friendly and willing to do whatever they can to make sure you walk away with exactly what you want. Their prices are pretty competitive too, especially considering they're a family business.
Gus' is one of those Canberra icons, and in my experience has always been worth the hype. All day breakfast, a great variety of food options and fair prices make it a good place to eat. The atmosphere and (as others have mentioned) people watching opportunities make it easy to sit and watch/talk for a whole afternoon. Just don't rely on getting a table on Fri/Sat night and you'll be ok!
Approximate cost: $15-30
I agree with others about the service here - not impressive and it seems like staff are more focussed on looking hot and primping themselves than providing great service. The food is expensive for what you get, and the mains are pretty average. Come for dessert instead - ours was delicious and just what we needed after an average main meal and crappy service.
Approximate cost: $18
Babar is average. The staff aren't amazing but they're not the worst, the food is OK but not amazing, and the prices aren't particularly impressive either. I'll often chose Babar simply because Woden doesn't have any other options to speak of. Lunch and dinner are definitely better than their Breakfast options which have been very poor every time I've been. Oh, and can someone tell me why their chairs are so low and their tables so much higher?
Approximate cost: $15-20
One of the best 'local' cafes I've been to in Canberra. Delicious food, nice location and fitout and friendly staff. I only wish my local cafe was like Wilbur's!
Approximate cost: $10-15
The pizza here is slightly better than their competitor's, but still not great. The pizza is most often underdone, the cheese is tasteless and oily and there's always too little of the other toppings. For the same price I can go to my local takeaway and get quality real pizza. Or even better I'll just make it myself!
Approximate cost: $9.95
I've used allhomes.com.au every time I've moved and it's great. Allhomes takes the fuss out of renting, sharing and buying in Canberra. The only thing I wish is that all Real Estate agents would take advantage of features such as putting up their showing times etc.
I'm surprised to hear that other people have received great service from Kid Essentials because the times I've been there I don't think their staff have ever approached me, or given me the time of day when I had queries about particular items. Their range is small but good quality and fair prices, I just wonder why I'm not getting the service everyone else is getting!
