I had the best burrito of my life there. The food was generously portioned, hot and fresh. It simply melts in the mouth.
The service was excellent. We were served quickly and the waiter checked in to see that everything was ok with our meal.
The ambience is lovely and the place is tastefully decorated.
Can't wait to come back.

Went here earlier this week for lunch with the lads. I had the shredded chicken burrito, which was absolutely packed with ingredients. The thing was massive. The only downfall about this place i found was the prices. Some of the items on the menu are expensive. The burrito costs about $23. Otherwise the food tastes fantastic!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Melbourne by far. I especially go for the unique and delicious Chimi Changa which is a bit pricey but I enjoy it so much, with the margarita's and sangria to boot!

I really like this place, the interiors are gorgeous and sumptuous however the times I have visited where far from impressive. Reservation mix ups, poor quality of food and drinks and rude service is something I unfortunately experience. The last time I ate here I was left waiting for over an hour for my meal while other people whom I was dining with already received theirs. Unfortunately no explanation or apology either.

I popped in for a coffee but ended up having nachos and wine. I usually don't like ordering nachos out (i'm generally disappointed) but these were delicious. The guacamole was delicious!! I will definitely go back for a full meal. I loved it.

I have eaten at the acland st amigos and the food is amazing so for my b'day I booked for my family and myself to dine at chapel st amigos. We arrived and they had given my table away. The waiter was very appologetic and asked us to wait while he found us another table so we waited outside for half an hour, after half an hour he still didn't have a table for us (even tho I had booked) he appologized but we ended up eating at 9.30 at Tgi Friday's which was great.

Food was in generous portions and tasted delicious :) we were served by an enthusiastic and hilarious waiter who made our visit all the more special. The prices were questionable, I paid up to $25 for one main, however the restaurants location and generous portions did explain this. Delicious place, might need to save up before I revisit though :)

I used to LOVE Amigos but the last couple of times I had take away and the burrito meat was chewy/fatty and felt like it had been left overs from another meal. I used to have Amigos EVERY WEEK but now I couldn't even imagine myself going back. The last time I had it I found what looked to be a grubby toe nail in it.

It sounds like they need to improve their kitchen hygiene and preparation.

The food I've had prior to this has been AMAZING so I'm very sad to be writing this review.

Mexican food is hands down my favourite style of cuisine, and Amigos offers a lot of tempting Mexican fare. The prices are fairly expensive though. Even if you're on a budget, ordering a small nachos and a few drinks will still take the bill up to $30. Its worth the splurge every now and then because the food is nice - definitely a step up from the Taco Bill franchise.

Amigo's is a kind of mature/upmarket Mexican restaurant in the sense that the cuisine has evolved from the regular Mexican food out there (i.e. Taco Bell).

In the decade or so that I've been going to Amigo's I've seen the interior revamped a couple of times to create a very appealing, sophisticated atmosphere however the consistency and quality of the food has remained unchanged.

The service is always good even during busy periods, and as a long time customer it's great to be remembered and given preference when I forget to reserve a table.

We usually order nacho's, grilled chicken salad and chicken burritto and sometimes wash it down with a couple of their great sangria's.

Great atmosphere, fast service and good quality ingredients. A little on the expensive side for Mexican but it is really yummy. The staff are really friendly, and as i have lived in the area for a long time, i have been going there for ages. You come out very full and satisfied and can eat wisely for 2 for around $50.00

Approximate cost: $20- 27
