This review is for Vue de Monde, Melbourne VIC

I booked Vue de Monde for Valentines Day '08 and at $350 per head I had very high expectations... thankfully I was not disappointed.

The set degustation menu consisted of about seven courses each paired with a different wine. The food was absolutely devine and the presentation was amazing, especially the 5 minute lobster boulibaise.

The wines that were matched to each course were an experience in itself with majority of them being international offerings which I had not had the pleasure of tasting before. The sommellier was outstanding!

Overall it was a unique and unforgettable experience and I would rate Vue de Monde as the best dining experience I've had to date.

This review is for Amigo's, South Yarra VIC

Amigo's is a kind of mature/upmarket Mexican restaurant in the sense that the cuisine has evolved from the regular Mexican food out there (i.e. Taco Bell).

In the decade or so that I've been going to Amigo's I've seen the interior revamped a couple of times to create a very appealing, sophisticated atmosphere however the consistency and quality of the food has remained unchanged.

The service is always good even during busy periods, and as a long time customer it's great to be remembered and given preference when I forget to reserve a table.

We usually order nacho's, grilled chicken salad and chicken burritto and sometimes wash it down with a couple of their great sangria's.

This review is for Moti Mahal, Malvern VIC

Moti Mahal is definitely my favorite Indian restaurant in Melbourne.

The food is very authentic with rich flavours that are not toned down for western tastes.

The restaurant has a cosy, informal atmosphere but the service can be slow during busy periods.

The butter chicken is always a favorite but if you really enjoy spicy Indian food then try the lamb vindaloo (with garlic naan of course).

This review is for Don Don Japanese Restaurant, Melbourne VIC

Small Japanese fast food/take away that is always busy, have been frequenting Don Don for about a decade now and am never disappointed.
My picks from the menu either the chicken teriyaki don or the chicken curry don.

This review is for 7&7 Korean Restaurant, Carnegie VIC

7&7 looks shabby, it's small, the decor is pretty dismal but the food is amazing.

Most of the main dishes are served on 'sizzling' platters which I prefer to the usual Korean BBQ.

Awesome range of dishes but I tend to always order the same ones, KimChi Pork is still my favorite.

The service is lacking as they are usually busy and understaffed and there can be some english barriers at times, but you forget all of that as soon as the free side dishes arrive at your table.

I'm a regular at KoKo Black, great to see there are more stores opening up.

I can't decide which I love more the Chilli Hot Chocolate or the Iced Chocolate.

Quite rich, I find it hard to finish a dessert and a hot chocolate but ideal if you're really after a good quality chocolate fix.

This review is for J's Surf & Turf, Brighton VIC

I've been going to J's for a while and have seen the place steadily declining!

Since they've expanded the restaurant they have increased their pricing AND taken items off the 'all you can eat menu'.

They are also rationing some items, I asked for an extra serve of Gyoza and was told there was a limit of one per table (there were six of us at the table!)...doesn't sound like 'all you can eat' does it?

Also they charged extra for the green tea ice cream which used to be included.

the food itself is always good with the exception of sushi that's been sitting in the fridge a bit too long.

Possibily the last time I go there.

Approximate cost: $28 per person
