The very worst place to take your dog.
I took my dog there because our regular vet is not open on Saturday.
I informed the vet of the symptoms and they confirmed the diagnosis of an ear infection. No further examination took place.
On Monday the dog was still not well so I took him to his regular doctor, Paul of Invermay, and told Paul of the exactly the same symptoms. Paul immediately measured the dog's temperature, and thoroughly examined his abdomen. The dog has canine pancreatitis. Paul administered Penicillin, antibiotics, and an injection to treat anxiety. He prescribed an oral antibiotic with instructions to call if the symptoms do not approve.
The Animal hospital was good fifteen years ago when I used to take the bulldogs there. It certainly has gone downhill, and now charges like a raging bull.

Approximate cost: $190

We arrived in Tasmania last year and searched for a good vet to take over the care of our very sick cat. The vets here promised us good palliative care when the time came. Danny deteriorated and on April 8th I cancelled a follow up appointment knowing Danny was dying.Danny had been taking tramadol, an S8 analgesia for a long time and the day he died I had to beg and plead with the vet to give us temgesic liquid (an S8) as Danny could not swallow anymore and was in pain. Euthanasia was not a good option for us as we practise Buddhism. Eventually the vet ordered some temgesic and Danny died peacefully at home that same night. The following day when we were at the crematorium with his body the vet practice texted to remind us of his appointment ! Very poor communication and extra pain caused in an already excruciating time for us. May Danny now rest in peace and not have to rely upon us for support.

I wished to read your comment, before I took my cat to Animal Medical Centre. My cat died 26/12/2017 because of mistreatment. Still we do not what reason was. I totally agree your comment.

The service we received here was exceptional, unfortunately our puppy passed away suddenly and unexplained they arranged all we needed to do to get answers and even sent us a condolences card. The fees are what to be expected for a vets but the service is why we will continue to use them in the future

The vets and support staff are excellent with us and our pets. They offer the state of the art equipment and the wealth of knowledge amongst the staff is certainly peace of mind. We have been a client now for nearly 10 years and couldn't imagine putting the care of our furbabies in anyone elses hands.

Our cat broke her leg on the Sunday of a public holiday and we had to get her to a vet but of course most of them were closed. However the animal medical centre was open and we called up and they fitted us in that day. They dealt with the injury efficiently and explained what was going on to us. The cost was a lot more than we would pay at our usual vet, and there was a surcharge as it was out of standard business hours but we had to get our cat to the vet ASAP so we had no choice.

i had to take my dog here last year when she suddenly started to have some sort of fit. I rang the hospital as it was a public holiday and no other vet clinic were open in the area. Upon inquiring if they offer accounts as i didnt get paid till a couple days later i was told no. I thought this was a bit harsh. As there werent any other clinics open i had no choice but to take my dog here. I must admit the service was really good and the vet was nice and very informative on what was going on. They were very thorough and we ended up leaving the clinic happy. Would have been nice if they had offered accounts as some people only get paid fortnightly and a pet falling ill can be very scary and last thing u want to think about is if you can afford to take them to a vet.

Very friendly and helpful. They are always professional in their manner and the clinic is kept very clean. There is always quick service available for emergencies and i feel my pets are in good hands.
