I had to put my boy in the deep sleep a few days ago,I feel maybe the surgery went wrong even though they said it was successful,or I caused it by trying to feed him myself with a syringe, idk but I do know that I blame myself,I didn't raise him from a baby,my father did,he told me he didn't have a smelly breath until he got older, but never took him to the vet,I can't stop thinking if I had taking him to the vet sooner I could have prevented him from being in pain,I was told that there was a fracture and there wasn't anything they could attach wire to,so there was nothing they could do,I would have thought by now there would be other options, like plastic surgery or a to hold the jaw together so that he could use it again, just like we have available for humans,I didn't give him he's antibiotics that night either,I did try to get him to have some food or water though, I'm just not sure what went wrong but I do not he's not with me anymore and hurts that I couldn't do anything else for him we were so close.

AWL is a extraordinarily bad vet clinic. You see a new vet every time you visit. When they can not find a solution to the issue your pet is having they blame you, its not an overt thing, just a strong impression, both my wife and I have felt it.

Recently they changed their operating hours with very poor notification of the fact, they sent my wife an email but I did not know. When I called to get a script for my pets medication they were closed, I then called when they were open to arrange a script, they said they would call me when it was ready. They never called.

The final straw was this morning. I new the service I needed and I called to book it. The receptionist kept asking for more detail. I indicated I had given her all information I thought was necessary and we ended the call. Later I got another call from the receptionist giving me information I new, and that was not relevant. I responded to that curtly, but not rudely. To which I got the response 'I'm just trying to help'. I responded by saying 'I didn't ask for your help, just an appointment with the vet'. The call was ended.

Later in the day I got a call from the vet. After some pressure from the vet I told her the situation. She then told me that 'we care about your pet but we will not tolerate you being rude to our receptionist'. I was curt with the receptionist, I concede I had had a gutful of the AWL's poor practices at this point. But I did not swear at her, yell at her or demean her in any way. I was curt.

I can not recall being so angry at an organisation as I am at the AWL right now. It is incongruous to me that a not-for-profit could behave so unprofessionally and impolitely.

Have used AWL vet quite a few times over the years for our dear deceased cat (RIP Kitty) desexing, vaccination, tick paralysis and eventually to be put down after being hit by a car. Their rates are low, staff are professional and caring. We appreciated everything they did and would recommend them in an instant.

This review is for the Gold Coast Vet clinic not Ipswich. I went to the Gold Coast vet clinic a few weeks ago with my cat, he was exhibiting some strange behavior and weight loss and I was recommended to these vets by a friend as I had just moved to the coast from NSW. Long story short, left waiting for over an hour. The vet was not interested in what I had brought him in for and treated him for something totally different with the promise she would research the strange behavior, no mention of his weight loss and just a lot of "I don't know" to every question I asked. Was far more expensive than I thought it would be, over $70 just for antibiotics, they gave me a 10% discount for having to wait so long past my appointment time but still the bill was over $130. The vet never rang me back, my cat continued to go down hill, spent 2 weeks trying to get through to the clinic to make an appointment, I finally got through yesterday, got an appointment, saw another vet and again, lot of "I don't know", can't to the tests here as we have run out of stuff, can't do the x-ray's the machine is in use, just leave the cat, ah no, not going to happen. I said I was not going to pay for the consult as they had done nothing for me on the last visit and not got back to me, vet gets the practice manager, she says you saw a vet, basically just give us your money, even though we have done nothing for you and made the situation worse and have no brain or diagnostic ability. I think the vets are all students and have no experience as they don't seem to know anything. My advice is they are probably fine to desex, vac etc but if it comes to anything that you need diagnostics for, go somewhere else, this place is just a money making, high turnover place.

Nice friendly staff. I took my puppies here for their first vac needles and microchips and I loved the little packs I got for each of them to pass onto thier new owners. Needles where very quick and they explained everything needed in an understanding way. Some of the pups didn't even flinch when getting theirs done so very caring and gentle.

The vet who just put our dog down was wonderful, he actually cared for our feelings, however when we went out to the receptionist Tahleah she was uncaring & rather cruel, making us wait forever to do the paperwork for our beloved Neo, & then treating us like some kind of scumbags who don't pay their bills. I will never forgive her attitude for that it was really heartless. The vet was great tho & I must say thankyou to him for really caring about our feelings when saying goodbye to our best friend Neo.

our dog was really sick and needed (expensive) surgery, and we would not have been able to afford it, but we were referred to AWL and they were wonderful and we did a payment plan and we saved a few hundred dollars getting the surgery there. fantastic service!

I have used the AWL Ipswich veterinary clinic for over a year now. They offer affordable pet care and also provide helpful advice. I used to spend nearly $600 on vaccinating my dogs every year (heartworm and C5 for 2 large dogs), but since going to the AWL clinic, the costs have halved. I am really glad that a service like this exists. I even took my beloved dog there to get euthanised 2 months ago and they even sent a condolence card out, which I though was really sweet.

Went and got our dogs microchipped. Did a lot of price searching and found them to be the cheapest and they did an excellent job, even showed us how the microchips work and were very friendly and understanding with our crazy pup. Will be dealing with them more often
