I have been to BOB twice and enjoyed the food both times. The portions are always generous, including the potato wedges and even the cajun salad was huge! The food was pretty yummy too. Ambiance-wise, I must say it does not have much, and it seems a bit confused on how it wants to position itself, ie relaxing university joint, classy wine bar, etc....not sure. But I do like the food.

This place is trying to be a pretentious bar in a university neighbourhood. Slow service and seem to be incapable of handling the lunch time rush.

I went to the BOB for an after work drink the other day, and I must say it has changed (again!) for the good!

Looking more like a neighborhood/student pub - the food is great and I can go there before or after my food shopping, which is good as there is nowhere else nearby unless you want to eat sitting at a bench outside the kebab joints ;)

Wish they'd bring back chilli mussel night, but other than that, its awesome!

We were wary on attending as they had failed to confirm our booking (left a msg on their machine as they never seem to answer the phone), knew nothing of the booking and put us on a able which we had to ask to be cleaned. However, the service was fine and the food was very nice and excellent value.

great taste of food, specially the pizza and beer, nice encvironment and friendly people. located in a good area and good neighbourhood. good spot for people gathering together and have fun

This used to be a dodgy dive bar called KK's, and was my local. When it changed hands and started getting re-done I was interested, but this new place is just horrible. Food is OK - standard pub stuff except it wishes it were gastropub stuff, a bit pretentious for the pretty ordinary quality of ingredients. Even when the music is tuned to a normal volume it bounces off the polished concrete floors and sounds unpleasant and harsh, which is the very first impression you get 'cos you can hear it throughout the surrounding shopping centre.

It's sad that the new owner wanted to get rid of the only student pub around here (apart from the one on campus, which isn't open much), and try to court the yuppies of the Western suburbs instead. The result is a brash, pretentious place with no charm at all. I'm glad I don't live around here anymore and have a much nicer local in walking distance.

Have been here a few times, not the best in regards to stuff they have to offer but it is decorated nicely enough. The toliets alone are a must see...if you can figure out how to use those taps.

Never got asked for my I.D though.

Love the place, cool couches good people. Had a wonderful night the service was just right and the music right volume. We went on the Thursday Night and discovered that it was Chilli Mussel night great value.

the most memorable thing in this place was the toilets!!! the manager does have a great concern with showing id..which kind of spoils the fun and moment, but overall nice place to hang out with mates .

Affectionately known as Bob's, Basement on Broadway is tucked among 40 or so speciality shops and eateries and is a great place to meet up with friends for drinks and light bites! Staff are friendly and entertainment is available most nights! Worth a visit just to see the funky toilets...
