Great location for a cafe, very peaceful when eating my meal. I was a bit disappointed with my lunch though. I ordered the soup which was a bit cold, however it had some great flavours and the service was efficient.

Nice to sit on the beach and grab a sparkling wine from here. Super relaxing and this is where I took one of my friends from England when showing her around Melbourne. She loved it

Friendly service and great for a quick lunch. Very convenient right near republica on the foreshore in St Kilda. Nothing fancy

Terribly rude staff, new menu is ridiculously simple and yet cant ask for anything minus an ingredient due to allergies (no tomato) not to mention food is of terrible quality.

Too bad the other beach restaurants conveniently burnt to the ground leaving BeachCombers to have the monopoly on where to eat down the beach.

The owner happens to own Topolinos down fitzroy street too.. you would think he'd know how to run a pleasing restaurant by now. Also got a glimps of the kitchen.. total filth!!!

We've been coming here for years as are also South Pacific gym regulars. We hadn't been here for a while and I had to ask if there was a new manager as things are so much better. Everyone serving us was attentive, polite and efficient. I get the feeling that there are quite a few young people who may be holiday / temporary waiters & waitresses but they do their best and are polite.

I think that they can struggle a little when they're busy but overall we've been really happy and have gone there most weekends for breakfast of late. Much better than a couple of years ago (I saw the bad reviews).
The food is much better and the juices and smoothies great. Coffees are consistently good.
There's plenty of room for a family and even a pram, and there's a baby change table in the disabled loo.
They're always happy to accommodate and help out.

My worry was that parking would be difficult but there was plenty.
We were attending a work "do" of about 60 people and they put us in an area on our own, curtained off from the rest of the customers. It was very nice. We had our own, friendly wait staff, who made sure that the water jugs on the tables were filled up at all times - we never had to ask.
We had a three course set menu, with share platters for entreée and dessert, and mains were chosen individually from a list of about ten things.
For $37 a head we were stuffed to the gills!
The food was good quality, and each table of about 20 got their food all at once. The chefs did a really good job with that. The parmas were good, the lamb souvlaki was very tender and delicious, the fish was huge. The oil they used for the chips tasted fresh. Everyone seemed very happy with their meals.
They were very generous with those amongst us who needed their food to be gluten free.
I haven't eaten here before, but they are in the Entertainment Book so we might just have to give them another try on our own!

on Melbourne cup day we visited Beachcomber Café, we ordered one Spag $9 for my son and a rump steak 600g $32. Supremely the steak was great considered that it was only $32 for 600g. the Spag kid meal was just nice. surely will visit again.

Approximate cost: $25

the best smoothies and juices ive found in st kilda. great combos and are accomodating to changes and dietary preferences. they have lunch time three course specials during the week in their cafe overlooking the beach, too. a great spot to get some takeaway. always friendly staff! recommended.

Approximate cost: $5-15

Location is great. Right in front of the pier in st kilda.
Service was terrible. Had to call someone over to order. Half the drinks came very late. The other half arrived after some of us had finished our food, and 2 drinks didn't come at all.
Food took absolutely forever to come out. Staff were nowhere to be seen.
I would not recommend this place to anybody.
Food quite expensive, and while the lamb Slovaki was nice, myself and a friend were sick for 2 days after.

Approximate cost: $28 a main

I probably favored the view over the food here! Nothing really knocks your socks off more than that, I always find it to be a little average and much like the other surrounding venues, a little pricey, bland service and ok food. A do like how the menu is not overly seafood orientated as sometimes, even though I'm next to the water, I don't always feel like seafood! I do like the prawns from here though, they're always juicy and tasty but maybe not the best I've ever had, it's still a nice place to go to for a catch up with some friends. Service isn't top notch so make sure you have some time to spare as at times food can be a wait!
