We stayed here a couple of years ago and we payed extra for a room with a spa bath in it. It was putrid there was used towel left in the bath and black dirt ring from the waterlevel. The rest of the room wasnt real clean either

From my home in Lake Haven, I can easily see the light blue posterior of the Beachcomber Hotel across the sparkling waters of Budgewoi Lake. I often drop in at the Beachcomber to have a beer on their lakeside patio, or to eat a meal. The mood is usually pleasant enough during the daylight hours, but at night the hotel seems to attract more than its fair share of thugs to the downstairs nightclub. For a supposedly classy venue, I am also surprised by some of the shabby facilities in the entertainment area, such as doors missing in the toilets, insect infestations, and that sort of thing.

I've stayed here a few times with friends and its amazing!
great little nightclub on friday nights, definitely recommend for anyone to stay here!

This place needs to have a huge overhaul. The accomodation is disgusting and the interior of the pub itself stinks. I recently went to a function there and the carpet smelled before we even entered the function room. The toilets were disgusting. Council has a lot to answer for here as they seem to trun a blind eye.

yuk.went there on a sat night at 8pm and they were closed.the food is not very nice and the staff are rude.the security is worse.too many underage people too.the floor is always sticky and the toilets are disgusting.

Would not recommend staying at the beach comber for more then 1 night. The beds are very uncomfortable, rooms need alot of upgrading, jets baths are broken, the place is very rowdy on weekends. Staying here isnt very family friendly. Price is reasonable. Only up side is the amazing lake views.

Do not stay on a weekend. Stayed there on a Saturday night and the music was too loud from the disco. Had people in the next room causing trouble and had hotel staff and bouncers in my room, while I was laying in bed [they woke us up] so they could get to the other room via our balcony! I was not impressed having 5 men in my room while I was trying to sleep and still in bed in my nightie!
Apart from that, food was great and staff friendly, just avoid the weekend as you wont get sleep and dont know whats likely to happen!

The views off the back deck are great and fantastic to sit out there and relax with a drink and eat dinner. The atmosphere is great when you do that. Unfortunately it gets rowdy with young adults on a Friday night with the nightclub.
The rooms are in need of updating if looking at the accommodation but the food and service there is generally good.

Its a great place to stay if you are young and feel like having a few and making a night of it . The rooms are comfortable witha great outlook on the water side. the pool is great and the facilities , bar, resturaunt and nightclub bit are all you need for a fun night away . Had a few memorable new years eves here, but it gets busy so book in advance. It is great on the quieter weekends too and you can ask for a spa room if you wish. The breakfast is a continental type of arrangement but there are plenty of breaky dining options around . The dinners are nice in the bistro and lunchtime menu is good too. Price wise it was very reasonable for the resort like location, the rooms could maybe do with an update but you definately get more than you pay for I felt .
