I have a degenerative back condition with 5 spinal fractures, unable to work, a loss of 7cm in height due to spinal compression, and a poor prognosis. I live with chronic pain, but my biggest and most panful challenge has been getting into, out of, and spending time in, a bed.
Rick at Beds for Backs, Nunawading took so much time evaluating me getting onto, off beds, my sleeping position and all relevant background before suggesting my best possible sleep solution.
His recommendation of a Ergo Electric CB750 electric adjustable base by Frowein matched with a Surreal latex mattress has been a success.
All aspects of sleeping have improved. I sleep better, with less pain, can remain in bed longer, and am getting in and out of bed more easily. The latex mattress has proved perfect. Firm yet springy when needed.
Most importantly, if I suffer further fractures which is highly likely, the electric raise functions will allow me to sit as well as sleep, and make it much easier to get in and out of bed. It has future proofed my life and although expensive, what price do you put on your health, pain levels and mobility? Thank you Rick and Beds for Backs.

We walked into the store & were served by Rick. He straight away picked up on issues my husband & I had with our backs. He sold us the cheapest mattress in the store & when we said we also needed a mattress for our 5yo son he suggested we get him a cheap mattress until he turns 10. Very honest & informative.

Sadly did not meet with our expectations & the result we had explained to us by the salesman and have had to remove the slatted base, also have had to purchase a memory foam top to reach the comfort we had expected from our original purchase.Overall very disappointed. I was asked to contact the CEO of the company direct which i did but never heard back from him so have no choice but to put this on line. If anyone wants a slatted base for a queen size bed it's cheap.

My son injured his back in 2007 and has been unable to work since.
In 2009 we bought a Contour Classic Regular Pocket spring Medium firm King Single bed with the dial base.

Prior to the purchase his sleep was very very bad.

After the purchase of the bed his sleeping improved for a while.
However, for the last 12 months or so his sleep has again deteriorated to approx. 2 hours per night.

I decided it was time to return to Beds for Backs to get an update on the way the bed should be adjusted and see if we needed to do other things to help Travis return to sleep comfort.

I had intended to call the Dandenong store to enquire what was the best plan of action, but

I inadvertently called the other side of Melbourne and spoke to Peter.
He checked the roster for the Dandenong store & told me to ask for Rick when we went in store on the w/e. He further told me that Rick was the perfect person to advise us on how to adjust the bed.

This letter is to advise you that rick WAS the perfect person to ask. He spent time with us in store, listened carefully, asked all the relevant questions and understood the problem.
He then said the best thing to do to resolve the problem was for him to come out and adjust the bed. He came out to our home after the store closed and spent an hour or so re adjusting Travis bed and was a wonderful, wonderful wealth of information, providing us with a better understanding of how the bed worked.
