This place is excellent. It is originally south australian. I went there last weekend, for picking my own strawberries. It was amazing how you get to pick and pay for those extremely fresh strawberries. The entry fee is only 3 dolar plus you have to buy the strawberries that you pick. It's a fun activity for family or friends. You can also buy various jam and souvenirs from the shop.

We went strawberry picking after lunch and well it didn't take long to fill up our bucket. It cost $3 per person to go ito the fields and we received a small container to fill. Then on return we paid $9 per kilo for the strawberries, but WOW what yummy strawberries. Hard to go back to the supermarket bought ones after you've picked them straight from the plant yourself.

Also a great assortment of jams and sauces available for purchase. Many of which I can't buy in NSW stores.

Remember when you were little how strawberries used to taste? Beerenberg's strawberries are just that - how they're meant to be. It's great in summer to pick your own and the kids love it too. The only problem is the "one for the basket, one for me" phenomenon!

If only strawberries grew all year round...

Such a great summer excursion. You can go out into the fields to pick fresh, juicy strawberries, or if you are feeling less adventurous, they have a vast array of jams, preserves and fresh icecream. A must-visit while you are in Hahndorf.

Approximate cost: $5

I just love picking my own fruit - trying not to eat as much as I pick. On top of that you have all the scrumptious relishes, jams and sauces. Very hard to resist spending too much.

A good place to take the kids, the store has lots of yummy things to buy, including some bargain 'seconds'. Wish we bought more now! I like the concept of 'picking' your own fruit. An interesting place, well worth a visit if in the hills.

A fantastic day out. Pick your own stawberries here and by the end of it you will be stuffed. While you may not feel like ever eating a strawberry again, I suggest buying a few buckets to take home anyway. You'll be ready for more the next day.

Approximate cost: $3
