The cinemas at Bendigo are really good. It's fairly priced, they show good movies and nice staff is great. The only thing bad I have to say is that the seats in the movies are only made for skinny people. Bigger people like myself have to try squeeze themselves in those seats and anywhere is is not a problem.

good movies but as it is the only cinima we dont have much choice.
They are very expensive and only have 1 night which is tuesday,
the games are all rip off to they have none that little kids can win anything
and it takes all the fun away from the kids.
Good and friendly staff though.

As it is the only cinema in Bendigo, None of us have anywhere else to go to see a movie.

They have a Cheep tuesday, Tickets then are $10.
It is so hard to find a parking spot any time around the cinema for the length of time to watch a movie.
The seat's are average and can become very uncomfortable. The staff rarely smile for some reason? I dont think Ive seen a happy person working in here? The candy bar as always with any cinema is over priced.
They have sensory Movie's now for those children with disabilities for $6, but it doesn't mention if the parents are allowed in for the same price?

I feel with Bendigo cinema it has been always, if they had some competition they would improve?

They need more family friendly days, I would Love to see a grandparents day so we could be able to afford to take our grandkids to the cinema.
I emailed them once a while ago to suggest a few thing's pensioner's might like to see done about session with our grandchildren and even just pension day's, but there has never been anything done about any of it.

This is a great review and brings up quite a lot of issues that loads of people are having with the cinemas. I would love if they had competition I would probably go else where instead of putting up with bruised hips

Hi Lian_Li, thanks for writing such a concise and informative review. The issues you mention are similar to those that plague the Ballarat cinema. Given that Bendigo and Ballarat have the monopoly, there appears to be little incentive for change. While this can be frustrating for regular movie goers, it is the disability discrimination that we find the most appalling. Thanks for the heads-up. Reeces

We went here for the first time this week, and were not incredibly impressed. Average cinema, average prices. Usual selection of overpriced movie treats at the Candy Bar. Small arcade for the kids to play games.

Parking is an issue, but that's to be expected in Bendigo.

A great cinema!
I go here and see a movie probably once a month and I always enjoy my experience.
The staff are nice and friendly.
They have some good games in the arcade and a good selection of things at the candy bar.
The cinema is always cleaned before every session which is a good.
Its hard to find a park so make sure you get there early but apart from that its a great thing to do to waste a few hours.

The cinema is clean and well-maintained. Staff are friendly, though kiosk staff could be a little more helpful. Seats could be a bit bigger, as they can get a bit uncomfortable during a 2 1/2 hour-long movie. In general, the cinema is quite satisfactory.

The only setback is that it can be very difficult to find a parking spot valid for 3-4 hours. We went on a Monday for an afternoon showing. All the (metered) parking spots outside the cinema were taken, probably by the previous viewers still inside the cinema. Other spots were just for 1 1/2 hours. We finally found a spot a few streets away, after quite a lot of searching. This is a bit disappointing and inconvenient, since it is quite a bit of walking, especially on a hot day! Hopefully the cinema owner might be able to take this matter up with the local council eg change the parking spots in the area from 1 1/2 to 4-hour spots, or increase the number of spots available outside the cinema to patrons. In the meantime, my advice to would-be cinema-goers would be to get in early if you want to find a decent parking spot!

My niece and I enjoy attending the Bendigo Cinema's Nursery Time movie sessions. It only costs $9 for adults with children under school age being free. We take the pram in and get to watch a movie together with other Mums & their babies/toddlers. The lighting isn't as dark as it is in usual screenings so you can can still see enough to feed/tend to your child. Also, the sound is at a more appropriate volume so as to not scare young kids.

Approximate cost: $9
