I find the local big W is good, but find the staff can be bit unfriendly. Many times i go shopping there and ask a staff member where an item is. They don't seem to know nor do they try and find out for you.

Not a bad shop.. not a bad shop at all. The staff are always talking to each other instead of you, but thats fine.. because I love a bargain.

Great shop for your daily needs, if you dont want to spend a fortune. Some staff, especially the younger ones need a bit more training in customer service though

dont shop there they sell junk , i got my boy a buzz lightyear 6v car today got it home and missing bits other parts need modifing to fit , they couldnt care less , very rude people to deal with , the item was obviously a factory second , wont buy from them again

I dont enjoy shopping in a place where the workers that are meant to be filling shelves, talk and carry on like they are at home or not in the public. Even when i made it quiet clear that i could hear them they still carried on. There behaviour was not appropriate for public behaviour.

Generally pretty good however I recently tried to return a hose holder which you screw to the wall of your house. My husband didn't want to make holes on the house exterior so he said to swap it for a freestanding reel. Well, I couldn't find the receipt but I figured since the sticker on the hose reel said 'Made for BigW in China' it would be ok. And, to be safe, I took a print out of my bank statement with the same amount as the reel. When at the refund counter I was told, no receipt, no exchange, no nothing! Not even a credit note to swap it for a more expensive item (the freestanding hose reel). It was a BigW item!! The label proved that. But rules are rules and no receipt, no return...full stop. The lady wasn't even friendly about the whole situation, short and to the point. Thank you very much, now leave so I can serve the next person. Target will offer a credit voucher for their own items if they are defective or damaged without a receipt and I believe if its not damaged, they will exchange or provide a voucher if its their own item. Will I shop there again? Only for items I can't get anywhere else. I am firm believer in supporting businesses that are happy to support you...the consumer, the spender!

As I am new to Ballarat and just love my up-to-date wardrobe at an affordable cost; I was so happy there was a Big W in Ballarat. Then from the moment I walked in everything was easy to find,friendly staff and then the amount of sales,choices and prices simply made my day.

Big W often have good prices, especially on Baby gear. However their service can be terrible. I was walking in to get a refund but as I have never done this before I was not sure which counter to go to. Obviously looking lost I found not assistance from 3 service assistants who just chatted in front of me for about a minute... finishing their conversation before I asked where I should go for a refund. The people who stand at the entrance as security are also relatively stern and unfriendly at times.

my experience at big w was excellent and i would go back there again and besides they give great discount bigpond vouchers at 20% off other at safeway supermarkets where they don't give discounts on they bigpond vouchers
