We will return and return. This cafe has the most amazing, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. We chose to have a table inside: there are tables on the front verandah as well an undercover courtyard. We had planned to have afternoon tea but on the website we saw that they now serve full meals so decided to have lunch including dessert. I chose the beer battered fish and chips which were outstanding. The batter was the lightest and fluffiest I have even tasted. My husband had their signature dish of salt and pepper squid. Both serves with a good size and both came with French fries, aioli and salad. Some dressing on the salad would have been nice, but this is the only fault. We both had ice cream bombs for dessert, which included a choice of baileys and scorched almond, vanilla or chocolate mud with melted Belgian chocolate. When they say 2 scoops they mean the old fashioned large size. My husband also had a cappuccino while I enjoyed a banana smoothie. I look forward to returning to sample their wraps for a lighter meal. The day we were there was a holiday Monday and they were frantically busy, but the service was excellent.

This Bracegirdles offers lunch and dinner dining options as well as the usual selection of delicious chocolates. The staff member who served us was new and not used to the menu so it took a while for her to get our order right but was quite friendly and asked other staff members for assistance. I have also been here with a group and sampled several chocolate fondues that were on the menu (approx. $45 each), a unique menu option for special occasions.

Have only been here once and that was for lunch. Was hard to choose from all the temptations on offer. The atmosphere of the place is a real winner. Definitely a place to return to when next down that way

Wow, this place was very well received by me and a group of friends celebrating a night out. (This Brace Girdles actually has meals as well as chocolates). I ordered a Scotch fillet steak which was on the `specials` menu and expected to get a tiny steak, but it was quite a large portion. Very well priced food and appetizers. But the holy grail was definitely the dessert. I got an iced chocolate and the strawberry dip, yum... not enough time to explain how good it was!!!

I have previously been to the new Bracegirdles store at Marion for drinks but had not tried the food at any of their stores. We went to the Mclaren Vale location as a large group to celebrate a birthday. We had to book in advance and were required to pay a 10$ deposit per head which was okay. It was incredibly busy and the meal I wanted (gnocchi) was out of stock which was disappointing. Instead I ordered the lamb shanks, a glass of wine, coffee and a "mudslide" dessert. The wait time to order was very long with one member of our group waiting for about 20 minutes in queue and so only got her food as everyone else was finished. 2 Orders from our group came out and were wrong and the staff member was not particularly helpful or communicative as to what went wrong or how she would fix it, and came across just generally kind of rude/uncaring. The food was absolutely amazing though and I would definitely go back just for that, as was their coffee and the locally supplied wine.

Approximate cost: $30

For someone who has been to Glenelg, this store is way better and much better to meet up with someone. For someone who has never tried bracegirdles before, GET ON IT. it is incredible and you will never go back to average chocolate. Though not the best thing for your wallet?

Thank you for your review. Friends have said that we absolutely must try the chocolate at Bracegirdles. I was not aware of the McLaren Vale location. As we live at Morphett Vale this will be much easier than a trip to Glenelg. We look forward to a pleasant trip to McLaren Vale and some delicious treats.

Had the Cudo experience, the staff helped choose gluten free options on menu, ended up with the meat dish with sweet potato chips, both meals were wonderful, staff great, dessert delicious, hard to have a bad time when you are surrounded by Bracegirdles chocolate, atmosphere is sublime.

Had an evening meal here with my husband on a cudo voucher, great atmosphere, service a a little slow... I had lamb shanks which was quite enjoyable and my husband had salt and pepper squid which was lacking in flavor which was a little disappointing. Dessert was lovely, chocolate to die for!

Coffee and service were as great as always and they seem to have adapted a slightly different concept here, with more focus on food and a larger selection than at Glenelg and Toorak Gardens. It's a shame this one is the furthest away from the city but next time I'll be back in the McLaren Vale I'll definitely stop here!

Approximate cost: $28.00

I almost don't want to recommend it because it is always so popular. It's a great place to go for breakfast, a wine or afternoon tea. You can let the kids go and play in the cubby house too!
