in a great location. the vibe is very positive. I was recommended by a few of my friends to give it a try and was happy with the food.
At times can be busy and although I haven't had to book myself I have heard you can and it might be a good idea if you want to eat at this modern cafe with lovely homely food and good service.
The food here is always freshly made and the coffee I had was great. The prices are reasonable and the interior is modern. I love the homely feeling it brings.
When we arrived for Sunday lunch, most of the staff were surly and uninterested. Ordered a Coke Zero, and has to send back the Coke that arrived. When my meal, the beef and mushroom pie, arrived, the outside was piping hot and the middle was stone cold. It was sent back. When it returned 20 minutes later, it was cooked, but I was no longer hungry and my partner had long-finished. So, we didn't pay for my meal. Maybe a one-off for this venue, but I won't be going again.

best to book for this popular cafe in the heart of mailing road, the meals are large and great quailty and the staff are always up for a friendly chat

Great location and good food. Try their focaccia. This place is popular, so it is wise to book ahead. Maling road is a trip down memory lane and has great shops for browsing. Eat outdoors if the weather permits. Great for catching up with friends.
great place for brunch on a sunny day - reservations recommended. Open sandwiches and the foccacias are nice and teamed with a nice green salad (or chips if you prefer!). Breakfast menu is great - the kids love their pancakes!
Approximate cost: $18.00
This is always busy for brunch on a weekend, so best to book. Food is great, and it's lovely if you can manage a table outside.
Nice place with inside and outside seating. The coffee is great. I agree with the other reviewer the eftpos machine does seem to break down a lot! The place wouldn't provide a bowl of water for my dog and told me that the council won't let them though so many other cafes on Maling road do.
Owner really cares about the quality delivered, even though staff may change from time to time. The food is of the standard that you would expect in Canterbury. Overall worth visiting.
Approximate cost: $20
