Be FOREWARNED! You don't come here for the service. You do it yourself. You get your own tea, your own sauce, chopsticks etc etc. The reason why this place survives despite the poor service and lacklustre interior of the restaurant is its food. Most Chinese will tell you that they don't care about the service or the surroundings. Only the food matters. Really what else is there? This place is famous for its pot sticker dumplings and on the value of money scale it's a 9/10. The taste is there. However I won't go back due to hygiene concerns. When our bowl of noodles arrived the waitress' thumb was sticking in it! Many a controversy runs through this place!
Approximate cost: $12
The food are great taste and cheap.
A Plate of dumplings - pork, beef, prawn or chicken, mushroom and vegetable - are approximately for $6-$7. Steaming bowls of hot and sour soup approximately for $4.00, and parcels of glutinous rice and red bean wrapped in bamboo leaves are a merely $4.
There is also little waiting time for the food.
Approximate cost: $7
Well, I agree that this restaurant is cheap and the food was okay, but the service was plain ugly. May be it was because they have too many customers with just a few of staffs, or may be they just can not be polite!!!
Approximate cost: $6
By far and away the best budget Chinese fare in the city
A budget Shanghai Dumpling restaurant in the city - service is fast and direct, food is delicious, and you'll struggle to spend $10 a head - great for a quick, basic bite in the city
Approximate cost: $8
