Hair-cut conveyer belt

It’s obviously got a niche in the market, however just ticking boxes. So rough with the kids who resist and even the ones who don’t and sit there nicely you can see wincing in pain from hair brush from a mile away, even getting the special “sparkles” put in the hair is just dumped on top, looked more like scalp dandruff. Very disappointed with the service. Won’t be going back, kids had better experience at the regular hairdresser on my lap. (Also pricing obscene)

My kids love getting their hair cut at this kids hairdresser. They have been going their since they were babies. The girls really make the experience fun for them with the cars to sit in and DVDs to watch as they are getting their hair cut. They always end up with good hair cuts and for the $20 a cut, it's well worth it.

While walking through the shopping centre saw this shop it stood out because its so colourful and bright my son had seen the cool car seats and wanted to get his hair cut couldnt believe it as he hates hairdressers!! So we went in he climed in the fire truck seat the hairdresser asked him what cartoon he would like to watch and put on thomas the train and he just sat there watching tv while she snipped away!! Every chair is different and each has their own tv!! I personally loved the store the hairdresser was very friendly..I will def be going there from now on to get his hair cut...will udate this review if i get bad service there at any time! My sons cut cost $20 which is around the same id pay at a boring normal hairdresser! Loved it

Our 4 year old's long-put-off haircut is normally a traumatic screaming match, but was morphed into no big deal with friendly staff and a unique spin on a salon visit for kids.
Children are zombified in front of their favourite TV program (which helps them sit still for more than 2 seconds!) and get to sit in car or plane shaped chairs.
With little toys on sale (ample bribery) and balloons or lollipops for brave customers on offer, we were very thankful to have such a service.
They are somewhat pricier than other salons, but I think it's worth getting a full quiet 20 minute haircut than a fussy half-done compromise.

My 3 year old now BEGS us to get a hair cut! Before Candy Hair he hated getting his hair cut, screamed and cried the entire time. We have been going to Candy Hair for over a year now and haven't looked back. The hairdressers are amazing with the children. They chat and smile and are so patient. Absolutely lovely! The hair cuts are perfection. We have never had a bad hair cut at Candy Hair. The kids can sit in a plane, car or fire engine and choose from a huge list of T.V shows to watch. On every 3rd visit they get to choose a prize from a great selection of little gifts. If that's not enough they even get a lollipop at the end. Since moving into a bigger store the experience is even better as the old store would get quite cramped. The only thing I would recommend is booking in early, they are always heavily booked!

My 2 year old son is one of the most difficult kids to get his hair cut. Last time, we needed 4 people to get his hair cut....two to hold him, one to entertain him and another one to cut.

So when we found Candy Hair, we had to check it out. They had planes and cars (hotrods) for him to sit in and his own tv (similar to a long flight). They kept him happy and distracted and was easy for the hairdresser to cut his hair, wriggle free.

The haircut was OK. You could get cheaper than $25 but you won't get the experience.

I used to be a loyal Candy Hair customer. They've been pretty good cutting my kids hair in the past but in their move to the larger shop (downstairs near KMart) their prices have grown too. I felt totally ambushed after a mediocre haircut that would usually cost me $25 was $50 at the end of the service! I questioned the huge change in pricing and was rebuffed by a junior. The hair was clean and still wet from being washed prior to the appointment, just a straight forward trim, not blown dry (so left with wet hair too). They used to part dry it and charge half as much. What a shame!

Very friendly staff, great atmosphere for the kids, a bit small but otherwise very nice, the kids like to play the games all the time

Ive had 2 birthday parties at Candy Hair for my children, and on both occasions felt quite under whelmed by the experience. The concept is great, and the kids seem to enjoy it, but the party room just seems very small and the staff seem nice enough, just not that switched on with kids. I think to make it a better experience they need more vibrant staff that are able to engage the kids more & make it a more fun experience, rather than relying on the fact that the kids will simply just enjoy being there.

My son didn't like getting his haircut, actually I would fear it when it was time. I took him here to get his haircut and they were soo good and patient. They explained everything and made him feel part of the process. Hence to say he now loves going to the hairdresser. You must try this place, it is perfect, I can't recommend them more highly!!

I have been taking my son to get his hair cut here ever since his first at 16 months. They specialise in kids hair cuts so know what to expect with young children - especially the squirmers and the kids who hate getting hair cuts or have never had one before.

They have great chairs for the kids - they can choose to sit in aeroplanes, cars, etc - each seat is equipped with a DVD screen in front of it and there are a selection of popular programs they can have on.

The staff know to take their opportunity when the kids are still and are quick (but good) at what they do. If kids get very upset they distract them with bubbles, etc.

First haircuts are treated as very special - they earn a certificate on which a lock of hair from the cut is stuck on.

They also have a party room which is directed at little girls who can have 'makeovers' for their birthday party.

And, there is also a loyalty scheme, for every 3rd haircut - the kid gets to pick a prize out of a lucky dip jar.

The hairdressers at Candy hair were great with my 2.5 year old. She was very upset and did not want a cut but despite her wiggling and crying they still managed to cut her hair very successfully.

Well priced kids' haircuts. Plenty of DVD's and aeroplanes, cars for kids to sit in. Don't know if they're that up to speed on modern cuts for boys but then that could be my hyperactive child who can't sit still!

I had my little girls b'day party at Candy Hair and all I can say is this place is the BEST! The girls had an absolute ball getting their hair, makeup and nails done, dancing and performing the catwalk show at the end. The staff were brilliant and the whole thing was fabulous from the word go. Don't look any further for a party venue believe me!!
