I have been seeing doctor Habib at the centre for a work place injury. His advise and guidance have helped me recover and get back to work. The care he has provided is excellent and exceptional.

The Best . Fast efficient, barley any waiting time. Any medical terms are explained clearly and understandable.
I had an urgent medical need and the Dr I saw, was through, and quick to arrange further medical care. I trust the DR and am thankful to him for his skill and knowledge.

I have never visited a medical centre that doesn't need to wait. Good doctors spend time with patients and they are willing to communicate, therefore everyone has to wait as we want to talk and hear more during the consultations. I rather waiting than being rejected when call in for appointments. If everyone does not want to wait, then each doctor has to be rigid with the time or be restrictive on their attention given to each patient, like a production line. There are good and bad doctors in this Centre. Dr Mai is definitely one of the best, Dr Sandya is good too and Dr Richard Chang is good also.

My visit today was in sharp contrast to a previous reviewer, so much that I felt compelled to join and leave a review! Thankful the Medical Centre was open today for an unplanned condition. Was able to book, so waiting time was minimal. While busy, front desk and doctor managed well. I have been coming for over 5 years and find the staff are competent and professional. Suggestions are: to have another Nurse start at 8am and perhaps another receptionist start at that time. They are uncomplaining and hard-working but it is a very busy practice! I usually book to avoid queues and to see my preferred GP, who is exceptional.

one receptionist (who is excellent ). 1.5 hours wait to see the one dr on duty. Ridiculous! Better planning needed by Centre management

So if we get 1 start for being open on this Public Holiday, what do the 2 other medical centre's in Carlingford get for being closed? Due to penalty rates we run at a financial loss today (probably why the 2 other practices closed), yet we open because we care. Yes there are long waits, which we knew would happen, but we did not know the 2 other practices would be closed (as they don't even have signs up saying their Christmas hours), so we are bombarded with far more than we expected. So we are doing the best we can under the circumstances.
And there are 2 doctors on duty (2nd doctor started at 10am) and we have a registered nurse on all day.

Perhaps the medical Centre management should have Checked with the other medical centers re their opening hours and got more doctors on duty! If u open, you should provide a high level of service or not open at all. I finally got to see a doctor after a 2.5 hour wait. Not impressed.

We believe that on a public holiday a 2.5 hour wait is not unreasonable, and our doctors do offer a high level medical service. The wait at most hospitals today would be over 4 hours, so we perform far better than them.
As doctors have families and like to have time away also, we rostored on all the doctors we could get. We could not get anymore doctors for today even though we wanted to. It is not up to us to make up for the lack of service afforded by the other practices.
We are of the belief that we are adding more to the community and offering a better service by at least being open, even if it means patients have to wait. We will see over 90 people today, who otherwise would have needed to go to hospitals or found other GP practices that might be open but also have very long waits.

I usually have to wait about half an hour longer from my appointment time, but it's great service. Lots of seating, and lots of doctors at hand who are all competent.

I generally don't like medical centres but some are better than others. This one however Ive been to twice in the last month for my son as he was sick. They didn't even really listen to me the first time and my son took a major disliking to the doctor which is unusual for him, Ive never seen him react that way before. They barely checked over him and didn't really give me any advice just told me to get some nasal spray but didn't tell me what it was called or write it down for me or anything helpful like that. Had to go back at the end of the week to get clearance for my son to go back to childcare. The doctor we saw the second time was better but still not great, he at least did more checks but I had to ask for everything, the letter for my son and the letter for myself to get carers leave. The letter was pretty bad, didn't even say that he had been sick or that he had been examined, just that he was fit to return to childcare. I only went back the second time as I had already seen a doctor there so needed the certificate which I would not have been able to get at a new doctor as they hadn't seen us.
They do bulk bill though and they are open both Saturday and Sunday so may come in handy in the future if urgent, but will definately be looking for a new doctor. (just moved to the area)

Thanks for review. Won't be going there for sure.

Hi Selenamc, really appreciated the information disclosed and will forward it onto family/friends within the respective area. Unfortunately, many of these ‘drop-in’ centers appear to be ‘tarred with the one brush’ and experience similar problematic issues. Eg. A high turn over of staff, impersonal service, employing staff of ethnic decent who struggle with the English language, long wait times, etc. The only positives that we have found with such establishments include ‘bulk billing’ and the potential to avoid lengthy (hospital) wait times. Hopefully, you will be able to locate a ‘suitable’ medical practitioner (in your area) that meets you (and your families) needs. Regards, Reeces

They are very popular in the area and it usually doesn't accept appointment. We normally have to wait at least half an hour. They offer bulk billing which is great.

Thank you for your positive comments. We do however offer appointments. Sometimes you may just need to book them a day or two in advance, and different doctors book out at different times.

They bulk bill now which is great. They usually are running late with appointments, but the staff are friendly.
