Once weekly I get my hair blow waved and I get a friendly coffee at Carnegie Hair Place. All of the hairdressers and lovely, boys and girls , the jokes fly and we enjoy rating the atrocious fashion sense of many male and female fashionistas who feature in the mags provided for customers there. It's a great place to get your hair perfect and the coffee is good, too. My hair looks and feels a lot better since I started going here about a year ago and my stylist (Sophia - great at colour and TRIMS - understands the difference between TRIM and Whack all of my hair off please!) has talked me into a few new ideas that have looked fantastic. They're very creative, while respecting what you want to look like when they finish with your head! Talk to these people if you're looking for fashion bargains, too. I always feel utterly glamourous when I leave.

I have been coming here to get my hair done for 4 years. I always get Louise to do my hair and she is amazing. A few months ago I decided to get my long hair all chopped off into a Victoria Beckham style bob and when she was done, it looked absolutely amazing!

Approximate cost: $40 for ladies cut

I have been getting my hair cut by Elio for around 7 years now... and I always get compliments on my hair. The salon is great, the staff are wonderful, and always ready to chat and make the experience a fun one. Great, reasonable prices as well... just excellent quality cuts and colours. They use Loreal products, which are also great. A cut and semi-permanent colour costs me $75 (I have a short razored bob hairsyle right now)

Approximate cost: $75
