Chat Yhai is great. Its always busy so expect to wait for a table. The wait is worth it. Really nice tasting Thai food and good service. I have never been at lunch time just Dinner

Good Thai restaurant to go to with no complaints whatsoever. Quite a good menu and selection of food and will recommend those who have never tried it.

Food served here are good on overall. Been here for several occasions for lunch and dinners and the food are up to expectations.

Anyone headed here for dinner should always try the Khor Myu Yaang if you're a pork lover. This juicy grilled pork neck accompanied by the sour-ish sauce is totally to die for.

Waiting time for a table would be a drag sometime. They however do allow pre-booking. Try calling one day in advance to get a place.

Be ready to wait in line for a seat here - the food here is good and everyone knows it. I personally prefer coming here for the lunch menu, since the food is cheaper, at about an average of $10 per meal. They also offer a good selection of desserts that are definitely worth trying.

My personal favourite is the Khao Ka Moo (stewed pork leg over rice) on the lunch menu. I'd also highly recommend the Thai red tea here - although some of my friends find it a little too sweet.

Definitely try it out the next time you're in the city, it offers pretty good value-for-money.

P.S. They close pretty late too, perfect for late-night supper if you stay near Sydney CBD.

Food is delicious and the restaurant setting is romantic. However, you may need to wait for about 30 minutes to get a seat because it is always full of customers.

The food is so so... However, this shop is always crowded. We spent about 2 hours to queue there... and the staff is unprofessional... they forget us... Quite expensive as well

Great Thai restaurant with great foods! A variety of foods to choose from. Strongly suggest Choo Chee Fish. Prices are a little bit higher but the foods definitely worth the price!

It's BBQ is good. The BBQ sauce is special. But the price is bit high. For that price, you can find better Thai restaurant.

Came her last week. The green chicken curry is my favourite. Cheap and cheerful and quick service too.

Came here again after our great experience the first time, but decided to get some Thai take away instead. This time, our experience was not great at all. Because we were ordering take away, we didn't have to wait to be served and could just order at the counter. We ordered the Panaeng Curry and Stir fried Crispy Pork Belly in a red curry paste (they ran out of the Pork Belly the first time we came here).


Anywho, we ordered and waited for around 30 mins for our meal before asking the waitress what was taking so long. She replied and said it was on the way. We waited for another 15-20 mins and still nothing. We asked her again and she went to check on the dishes and found out that their was an “issue” with the Panaeng Curry we ordered and that they're cooking it now. In total, we waited for about an hour for our food and thought that we might as well have dined in because the wait time was ridiculous.


When we went back to our hotel, we found out that they gave us a free dessert, which was nice. The panaeng curry itself was very tasty but the beef pieces were so tough that we didn't even eat it. The pork belly was so flavoursome and crispy though and I would definitely recommend this dish to others.


Our take away experience wasn't great, and the beef in the panaeng curry was terrible but I would still recommend this place to others looking for a good Thai restaurant (my other review for this Chat Thai was very positive).
