My pics are the Mango Sticky Rice, comprised of fresh cut bowen mango with salty coconut cream, mung beans and sweet sticky rice.... Pad Thai Chicken is also always a taste bud hit with me.
Well priced, good service and great food.

One of the best Thai restaurants in Sydney! Sydney has a lot of thai restaurants and it's usually hard to find any that differs from the repetitive/ordinary pad thai style dish. Chat Thai on the other hand is exciting and innovative. Delivering classic favourites and new items that are full of flavour and good value! Portions are generous and good for sharing.

The helping is fairly generous and the taste was reasonable.
The staff could have been nicer and more attentive.
I ordered the Pad Thai which is consistent and cooked well.

Was over charged for BYO when only 4 out of 6 of us drank, I checked the bill at the end and they charged us all the surcharge.

Price is good. Food is fantabulous! I have never eaten such good Thai in my Life! Chat Thai food beats the food I had in Thailand! They use quality ingredients (big prawns, silky fish etc) but at an affordable price. Pad thai prawns was like a taste of heaven , fried rice - Perfect with wok-hei! ,Tom yum soup was authentic in taste , the pork belly was really tasty and crispy...

I was in sydney for a 5 day holiday and had visited chat thai 4 times in those 5 days! everything we ordered was far better than good. So , feel free to order just about anything, You know you will not be dissapointed.

We had lunch here on Sunday and it was a bit disappointing.

We ordered larb gai the mince chicken salad which was nice – portion was good. We had the crispy pork belly stir fried with greens but portion was very small with not many pork pieces. Noodles with duck breast, once again portion is small like an entrée rather than main. Ordered stuffed pork sausages with glutinous rice – tasted a bit tangy and was pretty good but don't think it was a good value for $10.

I don't think I would visit Chat Thai again…especially with so many other great Thai places in Sydney CBD like Spice I am, Home Thai to name a few which provides more value.

I recommend this place to everyone!
It never disappoints, EVER. Especially the pad thai - it's absolutely gorgeous, every single time. One of the best things is they're open til 2am on weekends which is great when you get cravings for a delicious, authentic Thai meal in the middle of the night.

The food preparation is pretty much unbeatable. We've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for our any dishes, but in saying that they always come out in excellent quality.

As for prices, it's really surprising how cheap most of the menu is considering how great the dishes are. Many mains $10 incl. their famous pad thai - what a bargain especially for the city and compared to other 'trendy' Thai restaurants.

5 stars for everything! RECOMMEND!

Good food, authentic Thai menu, good place except a little small and a little expensive, but friendly environment. Overall a great restaurant. Good location that can be easily accessable.

My friend booked this restuarant for me for my birthday and soon to be mum as i was pregnant. Its always packed here, they turned off all the lights and i was wondering what was going on, they had the birthday song on and came out my birthday cake organised by my friend to sing to me. That caught me by surprise becuase all the attention was on me, but the food is great. Although there not really good in english, but there thai desserts are great for after dinner. A great experience for dining and of course if you want to surprise anyone.

Have been meaning to come here for quite some time and recently got the chance! As you walk inside you notice the dessert kitchen, where you see the Chef's make all the Thai desserts as it. Inside is quite small but cozy, almost quite dark but enought light to make it bright enough.

There are two levels to dine on , both using stools and wooden tables. Lots of communal / shared seating and if it's busy they usually seat you there.

We ordered thai chicken skewers to share and 2 servings of chicken pad thai for about $11 each. The pad thai was a generous serving with lots of noodles, chicken , little dried shrimps, chives, garlic and the tamarind sauce, whilst the chicken skewers were still tender, moist and had a lovely thick peanut/satay sauce drizzled on top.. very delicious!

Great dining experience, loved the food. Service was quick, but will try come earlier to get a table next time.

Their menu is large, the price is unbelievable for the taste!
I had brought my parents to this place for many times as they love it. Their thai food give a very home taste I would say. all dishes in their menu are great. also the dessert is to die for.
Just beware of coming here in peak time. They don't take reservations, so you just put your name down on the waiting list and queue. But trust me, it's worth waiting for!

One of our office's favourite spots for a business lunch. Really great authentic Thai food here and it's licensed. I especially love the somtam and duck noodles. The dessert bar is another great feature of this restaurant. Getting to Chat Thai is a bit of a hurdle though (as you have to walk through Westfield) but once you're inside you'll forget you're in a shopping centre. Nice food, good service and decent portion.

Found this restaurant at WOMO! located at heart of Sydney - socall Thaitown, few mins from Central Station. We arrived there around 8pm and have to wait for a while. then seated at a small table. The food was amazing. Everything had great flavors! However the food can be spicy, so be carefully.

I love visiting this restaurant when in sydney. There is another Chat thai in the Westfield centre but I prefer the menu at Haymarket. The food is amazing and really authentic. They do not take bookings and there is usually a line up but they do take your number and call you so you can go and have a drink somewhere nearby.

One of the best and busiest Thai restaurants in Sydney. Every time we go there, we have to wait for table. I love their bbq chargrilled lamb with smoked chilli and tamarind relish as well as green papaya salad. I am also big fan of their sweets like sticky rice and mango pudding as well as banana fritters. I think lunch times are better here as there are less people than dinner. But the wait here is worth for the lovely food. The service and price is both very good.

Very very busy. The ambiance felt great-hustling and bustling of people, almost felt like I was eating in Thailand.
However, the food was more on the salty side and the refilling of water wasn't quick so I felt like I was tasting salt all the time.

The food is ok, but dining environment is very bad.....ANd i think maybe they don't have enough staff or something....have to wait quite long for order....but it is a good choice if you have late lunch or something....cause don't have to wait that long...

Always busy, but I go there around 2 pm on Sat or Sun and it is quieter then and I don't have to wait for a seat.
The food is superb a so cheap for the quality. It is definitely authentic Thai, when my neighbour asked did I come often as it was strange to see "foreigners" in here!!!!! He was a Thai student.
The prices are great, the choices far too many, and the only down side is that to get as many people in as possible the seating is mostly backless large stool type. I like to lean back so I try to get the seating against the wall.
If you haven't been then go there. Easy to get to, being in the Capital Square centre next to the Capitol Theatre and convenient to all buses and trains.

Fantastic place to eat! Food is delicious and the ambiance really gets going at night. With that said, it can get extremely packed and it's common to be waiting up to half an hour for a table. Staff are generally friendly and know how to make good recommendations. Overall a great place to eat, just make sure you get in early!

We only wanted dessert & since there was a long queue we decided to takeaway 2 boxes of sweet potato balls & banana fritters to have it at a cafe at the Galleries. They tasted quite good but more rice flour than sweet potato or banana.

One of the busiest Thai restaurant in Town. The food is good and the price is not too bad considering where the restaurant is located. The only downside is that the place is pretty small so when you get in there you don't feel comfortable but oh well as long as the food is good can't complain too much.
