Administration system is a disaster!
Waited nearly 3 hours with my toddler!
Booked an appointment with a GP we saw before but was asked to pay $65 this time. The receptionist told us we could see the next available bulk billed GP in 45 min. When 1 hour pasted I asked them how much longer they said we were the next. Another half an hour past I asked again they said we were the second in queue. Then another one hour passed and I started push the receptionist to get a GP to see us! They told us they have no control of the queue, it’s up to the doctor. I started trying to talk to 3 doctors who came out to call the next patient. None of them shows any empathy and willing to help. One of the old female GP said “ you waited 3 hours, my patient waited a long time as well!” Finally a lady at the receptionist called a doctor for us and he was actually the doctor I booked for! If it wasn’t for my son I wouldn’ wait.
I also had another terrible experience with them. Last time I waited one hour and didn’t see the doctor come out to call anyone. I asked the receptionist to check if the doctor was in the office they said yes but on teleconsult. After a while I felt it was odd as I can’t hear anyone talking in the room. I insisted them to knock the door and we found that the doctor already gone home before they checked me in!

[removed name] is one of the worst doctors you could deal with at this medical centre and after years of loyalty by my father. My father ended up in hospital twice (second time with a broken neck) within 2 days of being discharged and I kept chasing up his GP only to be told if I did Telehealth it would cost me and if I did medicare I would have to show up and wait for however long, with no guarantee of me being seen by the GP. North Shore hospital told me they contacted him with no luck. I've had two other GPs myself (one who has recently retired) and those two GPs have bent over backwards to assist me when I call and their staff too.

Staff are very very rude.
After being told it was an hour wait and after 3 hours I requested where I was in the waiting line and they just said “you’ll be seen when you are seen”

I don't tend to expect much in terms of quality of service, waiting times, etc. from any bulk billing medical centre. As mentioned in other reviews, wait times can be very very lengthy but if you go during the daytime (even on weekends) the wait can be fairly quick! In saying that I have waited over an hour before on very busy days, however I feel as though this is expected. I have found some of the doctors to be dismissive and rude, however there are some really friendly doctors also. It's great that they have a pharmacy on-site and (limited) parking underneath.

Disgusting customer service by staff at desk. Very rude and unhelpful. They lie to your face even when you can prove them wrong. Also they are not 24hour avoid this practice if possible.

Only once did I come there and not wait longer than 30 minutes. Yes, it is close to where I live which is great, but sometimes I would prefer better service e.g. more receptionists and who are good at prioritising between sick and urgent customers and someone on the phone line. Some of the doctors are good for a check up but some are not very helpful and just want you out and for the other patient to come in. On the other hand, some doctors spend a lot of time just chatting away with the clients, not about their issues but about family and friends and life in general. I saw that a few times. I don't find that professional and proficient. nevertheless, I will still come here for the simple things but really hope this place improves with customer service.

Hit and miss but they bulk bill so what do you expect.
Saw me straight away when my 2 year old needed stitches and the doctor we got was incredibly careful and patient with him. Try get there as early as you can in the morning to avoid wait times.

Great location in chatswood, but it is always packed and you have to wait an hour. In my experience they bulk billed, but I am a uni student with a HCC, so it may be different otherwise. I found the doctors not friendly at all, very rude even. They were hesitant to even write a doctors certificate for one day off uni/work when I was really sick. Really the role of a GP is basically to be nice and respectful for people that are going through something, maybe give you a script, and recommend you to a specialist if there is anything remotely serious to deal with. S the least they could do is be nice. With these high turnover medical centres you will basically see a different doctor everytime and there is no personal service, and they dont get to knoow you at all.

My star ratings are based on my experience with 2 particular GP and not the medical centre as a whole.

I have been coming to this medical centre for the past 8 years and they have changed management and bulk bill or not several times.

Currently they bulk bill... and apparently cost too much for them to change the name of the medical centre, hence it is still called Chatswood 24 hour Medical centre although they finish at around 10pm if I'm not mistaken.

If you go for first available GP, they are always busy and expect to wait for hours....The GP on first floor basically see you, ask what do you need and that's it. You spend about 5 mins with the GP most of the times.

However I highly recommend Dr. Peter Townsend and Dr. Hanna Liechti whose office are on the 2nd floor most of the times. They spend time to discuss your health, medical issues or concerns. Both are very pleasant and very knowledgeable. This medical centre does not allow appointments and both doctors can be very busy. Usually about 2 hours wait for Dr. Townsend and Dr. Lichti has shorter waiting time.

From my observations, apart from these two GP above mentioned, and in my opinion the management encourages the doctors to see the patients quickly and as "cash cows"

Just find out, Dr Hanna Liechti does not work there anymore. I saw here once and she was good.

The Centre is not 24 hours anymore.
This is where my GP is so I go here all the time.
The centre is back to bulk billing as long as you have a Medicare Card.
They also have many specialists, x-ray, dental etc on the upper floors and most of them you can go to free of charge if you have a Health Care Card.
The seating is quite comfortable and there is a tv for you to watch in the downstairs waiting room.
The nurses are always friendly and they are the only place i've been to that hasn't hurt me taking blood.
That being said - the waiting times are sometimes up to 3-4 hours depending on the time of day and most of the doctors ship you in and out as quickly as possible. Essentially this is a large Medical Centre and you get what you get.
