China red is a little unconventional as you order directly from an electronic screen near your table instead of giving the orders to the waiter, which is not a bad idea at all so that you will definitely get the right order very quickly. The waiters were unintrusive and efficient and food arrived very quickly. The restaurant has a clean and modern setting as well, and we felt we didn't have to raise our voices to have a conversation in a chinese restaurant.
We ordered Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) , Wantons in vingegar and chilli oil, rice paper prawns and beancurd strips. I thought the xiao long bao were really yummy and did not think the skin was too thick as commented by previous reviewers. The wantons were our favourites and I would have preferred if it was more spicy, so I added more chilli on the side. The last dish we ordered was egg white with scallop and prawn which was delicious and fresh. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the amount of seafood was plentiful as well.
Overall a pleasant experience.
While it is in an arcade, the restaurant is great when you get in there. The computer screens to order the food are fun and the food arrives very quickly after it is ordered. The food is amazing and very cheap.

We went for lunch here yesterday, as a tech lover I loved the fact that you order from a computer screen. No need to talk to people. Fast service and the dumplings we had was awesome. But, we did the mistake of ordering two main meals too, and they were not very impressive. I had the Mongolian Lamb - I am not sure it was lamb and the cuts were very random. I never knew what I put in my mouth; you know when you're chewing and you're like 'what's that'?! The XO sauce on the other dish was very sweet, and it was A LOT of it. So, if I were to go back, I will stick to the dumplings.
Service was super fast though - it took ten seconds from we asked for the bil on the computer until it was on the table.
Approximate cost: $20
Service isn't great and downstairs there's only 1 toilet for the whole level. That said, food will come out in record time, it's priced as you'd expect for dumplings, and is very very tasty.
Ordering from an ipad on the wall is fun - and easy to get carried away with!
Agree with the other review, chili wonton dumplings are the shiz!
Approximate cost: $12
iPads on the wall to place your order makes the process quick and easy, however if you are looking for attentive table service this is not your place. Their process is to get people in thick and fast, and they do it successfully. The food however, cannot be faulted, I'd highly recommend the chilli wontons and the dolphin dumplings!
Approximate cost: $20
dumplings sound nice! I have to admit I never came across a restaurant with such ordering system!
Really enjoyed a quick lunch today. Ordered the vegetarian dumplings and vegetarian fried rice. As it was my first time here, I was not aware of the digital ordering system. Eventually a waiter came over and punched our order in for us.
The food came out within minutes (literally) and was absolutely delicious. The green tea was lovely, and seemed to have a hint of jasmine or something floral.
A high chair was available for my 10 month old.
Perfect if you have kids, a nice, quick, relatively cheap feed. Will be back!
Nothing special about this place apart from the digital ordering system. The foods are just OK, but for the prices charged I was expecting more.
Best described as a new relatively hidden counterpart to Hutong, this restaurant delivers fast, decent dumpling fixes when required. The eggplant with sauce is also excellent although the dessert is on the pricey side. Somewhere to try if you are a fan of Hutong but not wanting the lines (we got in first try for a table of 4). They also use a digital ordering system with no pressure from waiters or trying to find a waiter in a busy period.
Approximate cost: $13
The food here is amazing, very filling. Their service is great too with their digital ordering system, you just punch in what you want into a screen and a waiter comes to your table with whatever you want. It definitely is a little hidden gem.
Approximate cost: $20
First time I experienced the 'touch screen' ordering method. After placing our orders the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The menu range is extensive offering typical chinese style food. Prices are slightly higher than comparative restaurants though I guess it was worth the experience(for the first time).
We went here for lunch with friends and it was a unique experience. No longer do you have to wait for the waitress to come to you you order the food through their electronic menus and the food comes out very quickly. It can be dangerous as you can keep ordering dish after dish. The quality of the food was excellent although a bit on the pricey side for a lunch. Well worth the experience.
Really yummy dumplings of all kinds. Coolest part is that there's practically no service - there's a touch screen computer at every table, and you simply order and waiters bring it out to you. Everything came out really fast too, especially drinks. Desert was basically mango mania, but very yummy nonetheless.
Downsides - basically nothing, but if I had to think about it... We were a group of 10, and they catered for us quite well - but it was getting squashy. One girl spilled 2 things on the table, perhaps she was training?
Approximate cost: $15
The food tastes absolutely fantastic and they are pretty affordable as well. The most popular dish is Xiao Long Bao, which are little dumplings that taste the best. Wonderful experience!
The never ending search for the perfect XLB continues. Or for those that don't know, Xiao Loong Bao, or little dragon dumplings. These small morsels of dim sum have a hidden secret. Add some vinegar, a little ginger, chilli sauce if desired and pop the entire morsel into your mouth to receive an explosion of soup! Then again, if it's too hot, just nibble the top off and suck out the soup. This place is great with ordering as you order from a screen which gives you the status of the dish, whether it's being cooked, at your table or in the order system. Prices are medium to higher for the food, however we found many a dish very well made. Decor's not much and booking is recommended and if you can request the ground floor instead of the basement which is a bit claustrophobic. Overall a good recommended place to go for Northern Chinese food.
