10 reviews about Christin Hair

I am from Sydney but with a massive work schedule my greys were coming through. I had a work meeting in Brisbane so called the night before, explained I had a 12 pm meeting and was booked in for 10am. BEST service ever. Such polite staff. The colour is perfect and I had two staff blow dry my hair to make sure I got away in time.

Prior to purchasing a Groupon voucher for a style cut and half head of foils for $75, I phoned them, explained that I had grey hair very white at the front but I wanted the half head of foils be used to make my steel coloured grey hair the same white as the front of my hair. They said no problem so purchased the Groupon voucher. They (not me) decided my hair would probably not be bleached enough to be the same colour as my existing white hair and after much discussion, they suggested I pay cash for a style cut & forget about the colour & get a refund from Groupon. Then, we had several minutes of translation services while I explain how I want my hair cut!?!? The person cutting had limited English & didn't understand what I wanted so handed me some books so I could pick a picture. I would expect a language barrier if I was in Korea [redacted due to offensive content]. I'm in Australia and I expect the hairdressers that Groupon is providing a brokerage service to, to be able to speak English very well. The cut is boring and predictable and not nearly the dramatic shape that I wanted. Oh and it will take me 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS to get a refund as Groupon DONT REFUND usually but rather will 'Redeem'. All round ORDINARY. NO colour, BORING cut and PAID $110. Not happy JAN !!

I visited Christin hair using a Groupon voucher for foils and cut. After purchasing voucher, as some have said, I read some reviews and panicked! Was there any way of getting a refund?? However I decided it wasn't worth the trouble and went along as planned. I can say that I had a totally satisfactory experience and considering other places I have been where I have paid double, it was value for money. The staff are polite and friendly and the colour was great. The salon is not overly luxurious or trendy, however if you are mainly interested in a quick, decent and inexpensive hair style (paid extra $20 for toner but that was clearly mentioned in offer ) then this place is for you.

I was really hesitant purchasing a voucher to get my hair done. Once I purchased a voucher from Cudo I went on the hairdressers website and read many bad reviews. At this point it was too cancel. I made an appointment and hoped for the best. And the best I got. The experience was seriously one of the best if not the best ever! My colour was perfect, the treatment made my hair feel so lush and the blow dry was so nice. As soon as I stepped out of the salon I got heaps of looks and the next day at work everyone made positive comments about my hair. I will definately be going back!
Thanks ladies

Went to get some colour done (medium blond). I ended up paying 250AUD. unfortunately, I saw the full damage after i had left the store. In the saloon it looked quite bright, but outside I saw I have bleached white blond hair with blue and yellow stains. Before they started doing my hair, we agreed on a colour. Well turns out, they didn't use colour, just bleaching and toner. I paid for a voucher I didn't use ( colour and cut) + 170 AUD extra. I look horrible. They refused to fix it (would have cost 40AUD extra!). I've never had such ugly hair before! DON'T GO THERE! I won't be back.

First time visitors to Brisbane & sourced an awesome deal with these guys on Living Social.
But....
I requested a bright violet (which I've had already & it's turned out magnificent) & they said over & over again it won't work/be bright enough on my brunette hair. So after the colour was done, cooked & then washed off she said again it's not turned out very bright because the colours we have don't work on brunettes! Fortunately I had a blonde Bellage section at my tips but strangely they wanted to charge an extra $20 to give me a brighter colour because the other colour wouldn't work....! Not very happy! I now have a dull flat dark brown colour with pinkish tips!!
So despite their pleasant nature they really need some training on colour mixing, technique & time management. Wouldn't recommend their services!! Sorry

It was a fairly good experience. It is value for money - a voucher for $70 included half head of foils/full head colour, treatment, cut and blow dry/straightening. They don't charge extra for long hair. The staff are very polite and offer you tea/coffee. However they don't speak English fluently - only enough to get by so it can be hard to understand them. However they do their best to try to provide you advice. My foils were done nicely (but had to pay extra $40 for bleach to get a lighter and brighter colour) and received everything per voucher as promised. Only drawback is the communication skills and (not a big deal at all - the decor of the salon is pretty bare). Plenty of latest magazines to read.

I had a voucher and I can honestly say that my hair looks the best it has in years. I got foils, cut, treatment and dried for under $80.00. They will now be my hairdresser of choice.

I just had my hair done at Christin Hair and they were amazing. I used a voucher and they we lovely normally other Salons treat you as though you are not important because you're using a voucher. My hair looks and feels fantastic and I am extremely happy with the style cut. Their speed was astounding, I had a ½ head of foils, treatment, style cut ad blow dry and it was finished in under and hour and a half. I can't sing their praises enough.

I don't usually write reviews but I don't want anyone else to have a bad salon experience along with getting their hair ruined.

I bought a voucher for a full colour using Wella products, Shiseido treatment, style cut & GHD finish. Not only did they get the colour totally wrong and didn't cut my hair straight, the overall salon experience was dismal - the salon was poorly decorated, there were no recent magazines to read, and I was not even offered a drink of water in the entire time I was there.

Unfortunately I read bad reviews about this salon AFTER I bought the voucher so I made sure I did my best to ensure I communicated exactly what I wanted, as clearly as possible. I even brought along the exact formula used by my previous excellent hairdresser (not in Brisbane), using the same Wella products, to colour my hair.

I am used to getting my hair dyed before being cut, but in this salon they insisted on cutting it first to "save on hair dye product". I had less than an inch cut off so I found that astounding. When they got around to colouring my hair I asked for a colour slightly redder than the original formula. It was obvious to me, after much back and forth, that the girl doing the colouring was totally inexperienced. It also did not help that she had difficulty speaking English. I made her check what she was doing with the woman who cut my hair (the senior) to ensure she got the right colour mix - I am usually copper red but this time I wanted cherry red. Well, my hair ended up black/brown. I expressed my concern at the colour but was advised that the red would become more prominent after a few washes....this never happened. I also did not notice until I got home that she did not cut my hair straight.

If you care about your hair DO NOT go to this salon. Here is a link to other bad reviews, unfortunately much worse than mine: http://www.hotdeals.com.au/daily-deal/14/10/2011/49-for-foils-or-full-colour-style-cut-treatment-ghd-finish-at-christin-hair-brisbane-cbd-value-305

So sorry to hear about your awful experience. Good to get the news out there about this salon.

Thanks for the review, I've seen their vouchers online & was considering buying one so your review was helpful.
