The food here cannot be faulted, the steak is so tender and even though it's quite pricey and you have to order all your sides separately the service and quality of food make it worth the prices. I highly recommend the truffled parmesan shoestring fries as a side. The biggest downside of this restaurant is it's layout. Some of the tables are so close together it's extremely difficult to get in and out of your seat without intruding on the table next to you and also if you are unlucky your neighbours can be quite noisy making the whole ambiance of fine dining lost.
I've just recently helped to organise a wedding at this venue and I have to say it provides exceptional value for anyone trying to organise a wedding without blowing the bank. You can actually do both the ceremony and reception here with the ceremony taking place in the garden area with a wet weather option available. There are 2 areas available for the reception, we chose the smaller room as we only had 50 or so guest and comes with it's own private bar and bathrooms. The standout feature of this place is that for $100 a head they provide a two course meal, beer wine and soft drinks, decorations for the bridal table and the centrepieces for the other tables, chair covers and they even plate your wedding cake for desert. I have to say of all the research I did this is by far the best value especially considering the menu choices are quite good. The building exterior itself could do with some updating but once you are inside it's a pleasant atmosphere with a lovely outlook of the golf course. Lots and lots of parking aswell which is great.
I've been here a few times since it was renovated and each time I've been impressed. All the meals I've had there have been really tasty and well prepared and the service is good enough. The drinks are a little pricey but the atmosphere on the weekend is pretty great so it makes for a entertaining night out. There is a gaming area if anyone wants to play pokies and it's set in the Glasshouse area at Carindale so there are other dining options steps away for any fussy eaters. There is also a very small play area for the kiddies right outside the glasshouse, there are only a few small play things but for anyone who needs to entertain kids will understand, it can be a godsend.
I had the Summer Sizzler BBQ Master meat pack delivered from these guys and was very impressed with the whole experience. Firstly they delivered it right to my door packaged so nicely in individual vaccume sealed portions and then all packed on ice packs in a cooler bag. There is no doubting the freshness of the meat being delivered to you. The pack came with beef steaks, lamb steaks, sausages and ribs. The steaks were so tender and the sausages tasted great but I have to say I've never bought better ribs, they were so tasty and full of meat hardly any fat at all. I will definitely use these guys again.
We joined our friends at this Japanese restaurant for a birthday celebration and were pleased when we walked in and saw quite a trendy modern restaurant with the best backdrop of the Brisbane river and Story Bridge all lit up. The bar area is quite nice to sit, relax and have a drink although be warned the drink menu is pretty pricey. Our waiter gave us our menus and said the restaurant was a tapas style restaurant which meant we should order all our dishes like we were going to be sharing. I feel he gave us the wrong advice there because the meals are quite tiny and dainty and while they were delicious and beautiful to look at they were not easy to split up and share. As you expect from most restaurants on Eagle Street Pier it's quite expensive but you pay for the pretty food and pretty view.
We visited this restaurant to grab a few tapas and and drinks before catching a movie at the cinema next door. The tapas themselves were pretty good, we just got breads, dips, chips and a couple of other bits and pieces, nothing too excited but definitely yummy to nibble on while enjoying the atmosphere. The real highlight of our visit though was the white wine Sangria, it was soooo delicious and refreshing and jam packed full of fruit. Our one drink turned into 3 or 4. Would definitely go back just for the Sangria.
I was pleasantly surprised visiting this cinema as I didn't realise how different it is to normal cinemas. It's very trendy and cosy. The service itself is very similar to Gold Class cinemas in that you can order food and drinks beforehand and they bring it all into you when you are ready for it. The chairs were not that comfortable though, we were sitting in the back row and it felt like the chairs would normally tilt a little backwards but we just kept hitting the hard wall behind us. Also the tables in between the chairs for your food and drinks are so tiny you can only really fit 2 drinks on so we had our food on our laps the rest of the time. That being said the food was very tasty and generous in serving. Great for a romantic and cosy date night.
I decided to try this place after hearing some great reviews from friends and being a great lover of Churros I could think of nothing better than a chocolate bar that specialises in churros. Yummmm their churros were great and I LOVED all the dipping sauces that came with them. There is a really big variety of deserts to order from and some great sounding hot chocolates, I'm going to try the chilli one next time. They are open late aswell, 11pm on weeknight and midnight on Friday night and 1am on Saturday night which is great. I also think if you join up with them online you receive a free churro plate for 2 on your birthday. I will definitely be visiting this place again real soon.
I love coming to this cafe/restaurant on a weekend night for a coffee or desert and just become part of the hustle and bustle that is Park Rd on a weekend. The atmosphere is great and the big replica Eiffel Tower centred right in the middle just adds to the ambiance. I have eaten here before and the food is fine, nothing spectacular but the atmosphere more than makes us for it. The prices are a little high and I think the alcohol is very expensive for a cafe. The affogato is actually really good and they usually have a pretty good selection of cakes. The parking can be a bit tricky and I try to avoid the area on game night as the congestion from Suncorp Stadium can become annoying.
We had a big craving for chinese food one night but were not able to go out and get it so we were very excited to find these guys who deliver. The food was fine, pretty standard chinese really but the best part was they delivered to us on the southside for only $4 which I think was a bargain. The food is really well priced and they also have a loyalty card which is a great bonus because it offers different deals like buy one main get one free, or 25% off your order and things like that.
