I was really disappointed by the service provided by Connex. Train delays aside, customer service was also terrible. Once, I had to purchase my metcards in bulk over the counter at Flinders Street Station. The staff member misheard my request and printed the wrong tickets. When I told him I want my tickets reprinted, he lost his temper, slapped the tickets on the counter and yelled in my face. It was such a horrendous experience, it made me wonder why Connex had recruited this person for a customer service role in the first place.

Haven't used the train system much lately but I have always found the trains to be okay. I used to catch the train in peek hour and they ran pretty smoothly. There are always complaints about delays but given the volume of people they move each day they do pretty okay. A good way to travel as is great for the environment!

Definately disappointing. As a regular traveller on our transport system it is a disgrace that they operate such a poor service. Surely they can lift their game and give us the service we are entitled too.

Like many others I use Connex every weekday to work in the city. There's not a lot of choice for commuters and there always seems to be some disruption/cancellation/problem with the computer system, the loud speaker, etc.

If there's one constructive comment I'll make - they need more security at stations and on trains. There are so many seedy people and young thugs wrecking the place and making people (expecially women) feel very unsafe.

A few more services would be good too, with more train lines... I don't ask much I know :)

One thing you can count on though - The ticket inspectors!

Wow, what can I say about Connex? They don't take responsibility for their car parks unless you push Customer Service (mind you, the lady I e-mailed was very nice) - I did manage to get the car park re-painted so no-one else gets booked for being in a disabled car park when you are in a regular car parking spot! But still nothing has been done about the amount of times cars get broken into at the station - security is non-existant.

And then there is the trains with their late arrivals, cancellations and cramped conditions! With the gigantic price tag attacked for the honour of using their services, such as they are.

It could be worse, I could be on the Sandringham line....

I only use them because I have to. What could they do with a little competition, rather than being a monopoly I wonder?

When you rely on public transport to get you to work, and your boss relies on you to be there on time, it is extremely frustrating that the number of cancellations continue to occur. It seems it's aways too hot, too wet or some other reason why our public transport system can't function properly. Please look at other countries and see how they run their networks.

Approximate cost: $10

The train line that I am on is not so bad cause I manage to get a seat - but other lines like epping - its just impossible. Wish there were more frequent services and that the trains were on time. The train system in Hong Kong is fantastic - very efficient. I find that the announcements for the train stops are not very good. They can be so inaccurate and if you don't know a train line - you need to be careful and pay attention to the stops.

It's so hard to find a clean seat, and ticket prices increase each year. It's not fair and public transport should not cost so much. Inspectors intimidate instead of politely asking for a ticket check. It's so disappointing that this public service is one that Victorians aren't particularly proud of. It's unfortunate that I do have to use this service again, simply because I have no other choice.

I catch only when i have to, because I hate Melbourne's public transport system. I try and avoid using due to having to put up with the smelly, dirty carrages. Also the trains are so cramped in peak hour.
