I am an Australian pensioner and needed a 20 ft sea container. In view of the current scams going on I was very nervous about losing my money.
After getting a lot of dodgy quotes and a couple of genuine ones I settled on Container Traders.
Ben was particularly patient and very helpful with setting the whole thing up.
He put up with my continual phone calls and emails.
The container was delivered punctually and I strongly recommend this company for their honesty and customer support.

They delivered a container whose door would not lock properly because of extensive damage. Plus there was a hole in the floor so it was not vermin proof. They ignored my emails and phone calls about this and continue to do so.

DO NOT PURCHASE A CONTAINER FROM THIS BUSINESS!

The following statement is a consolidated version of the events which occured during my dealings with this business.

I had purchased a used 20ft high cube container from this company under the assurance that it could be delivered to my property on a set date, which was two weeks following my purchase. In addition to this, the sales person stated that I would be regularly updated with the progress of my order.

The container was not delivered within this time period and excuses were constantly made as to why it was not available. Every second day beyond the delivery date, I would enquire as to where my purchase was. My calls were often ignored and not returned. When I was able to get through to the sales staff, more false promises were made.

2-3 weeks later, after conceding defeat I attempted to cancel my order and requested a full refund. The sales staff refused, and my container which was "stuck in Sydney", magically appeared an hour later - despite Sydney being a 3 hour drive to my property.
The condition of the container that arrived was more appalling than the sales staff's attitudes. It was not "lightly used" as I was informed at the time of sale, nor was it a high cube container. It resembled a crumpled beer can and was not waterproof. On a positive note, at least the subcontracted delivery driver was a nice bloke...

I moved to purchase a used shipping container in November 2019 and went with container traders. Price was on par with other companies but chose container traders due to fast response. This ended after they had my money.
A delivery date was agreed on with the understanding that this may not be the exact date (it was a remote area and delivery is a little unpredictable at best). When the due date came I phoned to get an update on a time/date, I was told that the driver would ring me today (this happened to be a Friday). No phone call but I gave them to Monday. Rang again on Monday, and was told that the price did not include delivery ("delivery included" clearly written on invoice in two places, we had also discussed what type of truck would deliver it). My case was then passed to the manager (this took 2 days to get to speak to him) who gave a sob story that they would not be making any money out of the delivery and they would need more money. I said that that was not the agreed price. I did not get any response as to what was happening, I offered for them to return my money, but they would not respond to text or phone calls. I finally launched a credit card dispute and informed container traders that I had done so, I then received a phone call from container traders manager.
I was given the run around for another 4 work days plus weekend. They finally purchased a container for me and a new delivery date was given. When the new date arrived I texted to try and get a time of delivery, no response. Delivery date passed again. There was only one company in town that delivers containers via tilt tray so I gave them a call to see if the order had come to them, it had and they were more than happy to provide a delivery date and time.

My container turned up only 3 weeks late with numerous phone calls and text messages.

If using this company I would recommend paying via credit card (easier to get money back if needed) and communicating via text and email or keep good record of voice communication. Ensure your invoice is correct.
