As a first experience here after many years planning on coming I was extremely excited. Yum, such a delicious meal. We ordered the banquet and got a perfect amount of food, all impeccably prepared. There was a great mix of seafood/ veg/ and meat, and everything was really tasty and well balanced. Flavours were interesting without being unpleasant, and the drinks menu was well matched. Staff were attentive, friendly, and helped us to have a great night. Worth a splurge.

This is our third time and it seems that whatever you order from the menu tastes amazing. The service is exceptional and if you have allergies you just let them know what they are and you do not have to worry about it. One of the top places in Melbourne.

Cumulus Inc is a lovely cafe in Melbourne CBD on Flinders Lane. Cumulus Inc sells one of the best hot chocolates and coffee that I have every drunk in Melbourne-Sydney. The place gets packed, so be prepared to wait.

Ever reliable!
Cumulus is on the way if not already a melbourne institution. It can always be relied on to deliver a wonderful evening. Always open (even on public holidays like good friday), always ready with a smile and someone at the door to greet you, always prompt with service. Whether you are there for a business meeting, a date, or just a casual dinner it never disappoints on service or delicious balanced food.

I came here with friends after reading wonderful reviews from other people about this place.
The service was great as the lady kept apologizing for waiting. Keep in mind they don't take bookings. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable about their dishes. The meals were a decent size and were beautifully presented.
I couldn't fault any of the meals as they were cooked to perfection. The only downside was that it was a tad bit too noisy for my liking. Overall it is a great place for a great meal.

I went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. At 8.40am, the place was packed and we managed to get the last table. I had the crumpets and the kids had toast with their jams. The crumpet was different and very tasty. The breakfast items are quite expensive, coffee is great, service is really good and not intrusive as previous reviewers have mentioned.

Fantastic spot for brunch. I usually start with a glass of their freshly squeezed grapefruit juice accompanied by a homemade muffin (raspberry, poppy seed). For my main I usually go with the bacon sandwich with gentleman's relish, but the waffle with pastrami is also a winner. Great spot!

I have mixed feelings about Cumulus. It is a great sophisticated yet casual type of place to go for dinner. I would definitely recommend it for people wanting a classy and interesting evening meal, without the formality of a restaurant experience.
The staff are friendly without being intrusive. The food is creative and delicious.
I have also been for breakfast. And I would not recommend it for breakfast. For me I found it to be a little on the boring side, and not quite the right environment. The food was good, but just not good enough considering the amount you pay. And the service and environment was not quite there either.

Its a busy place and the only table they had for us as 'walk ins' was a shared table, but it was fine and we didn't feel crowded. We were seen to pretty quickly, and although they were busy, our dishes came out fairly quickly.
We ordered two cocktails, and four small sharing plates (marinated octopus, confi potatoes, fois gras and proscitto ham). We were provided with compimentary home made bread which was stunning. All the dishes were rich, but in a good way. Very tasty and put together well.
I ordered a beer, Lebanese pale ale, which was great too. I asked the waiter for advice and he kinda undersold it, which was nice rather than over selling it.
All in, it cost approx $AUS 120.00. It was worth it.
We would definitely go there again. One of the best places we ate while in Melbourne, if not the best

Approximate cost: $60
