Greasy breakfast that took too long, bad service and a bug in the coffee (discovered only after the cup was drained). Would not go back.

Family breakfast last Sunday morning for my Dad's birthday. Coffee, tea and food was really nice, hot and filling - good portion sizes. Service was quite good for a busy Sunday morning - no complaints - would definitely go there again - lovely outlook opposite the waterfront and the Sunday Markets on the Esplanade - always fun!

Approximate cost: $14.00

We went for breakfast on a sunday morning, wasn't too busy. most tables hadn't been cleared and tables hadn't been wiped either. food took too long to come out and some of the poached eggs were hard. the pesto breakfast was delicious but very overpriced. staff were dressed inappropriately and were clearly hungover. half the order of drinks they forgot and then charged us at the end for them anyway.

Approximate cost: $29

Had diner with my wife and two young boys on a Friday evening early, the service was wonderful, food excellent. Catered for our boys, their food came first and fast which kept them happy and us, just wonderful experience.

My fiance and I have had both breakfast and lunch at the Cuttlefish and have found it be a fantastic experience. Great food and excellent service!
The coffee is excellent, not burnt like in so many places and the waitress was friendly and welcoming, recognising us when we came back a week later for lunch. Weekends are really busy but we had lunch on a wednesday and it was very relaxed. We are looking forward to trying them out for dinner.

Approximate cost: $20.00

We had been there three times before and it was great, however on the next 2 visits it was appalling. It was as if they had some success and stopped trying. The food was mediocre, the service dreadful had to ask for cutlery and waited 15 minutes for that to come. Waited 45 minutes for an entree and over an hour for the main. When I eventually complained as I had an international flight to catch it was shrugged off with; "thats a standard". No it is not the standard even in a fine dining Establishment. Being successful is an ongoing effort

Sad to say but I completely agree with this. Cuttlefish started off great and now the food is hardly recognisable and sadly mediocre. My partner had a BLT and I think they almost forgot to cook the bacon it was so pale and slimey. Shame on you!!!!

Four of us have just come home from a wonderful meal at the Cuttlefish cafe. I had the Salmon with the lime sauce it was awesome can't stop talking about how good it was. In my 61 years its the best Salmon and the best sauce I have ever had. The others had an awesome meal also can't be faulted. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere great. Talked to the chef it was absolutely 1st class. 10 out of 10, 5 star

These guys have really upped the anti in terms of quality restaurant food in Manly. Their breakfasts are great and they try to do some different dishes so it's not just the usual big fry or eggs benedict. The tapas is the best quality I have had in forever and we had a ploughmans' lunch there with home made pate that was just to die for - real quality ingredients.

This is my review in May 2009. March 2010 now and I had lunch at Cuttlefish yesteray and had the Ploughman's again. OMG! What happened to you Cuttlefish? It was almost unrecognisable as the same dish - no more ham off the bone just slimy processed ham, soggy pickles and gherkins and not the quality cheese you used to serve. The review above is right - it's like you started great then just stopped trying. Shame on you!!!!!
