Awesome Indian food! Love the Darby Raj! Such fresh, yummy, value for money food - you just have to try it!
Only thing they could do better is to include koftas on the menu, and/or a paneer dish. Then I'd be in heaven :-)
Their naan is so light and airy...pillow like. Some of the best takeaway naan I've had...mmmm!
Love the Raj!

The very best butter chicken I have tasted. Don't be fooled with the other 'Raj' indian food out there, Darby Raj on Darby Street is the best one. Very cheap price considering the quality of food you get to eat!

As I am an avid fan of almost all Indian curries, I absolutely love Darby Raj. $5.50 for a large sauce on rice? WOW! It is just amazing and the naan bread is cooked fresh when you order it. Very cheap but the taste is unforgettable. There are a large range of curries to choose from and all are very afforadable.

It might be bay marie style, but you are assured a quick and very tasty meal from Darby Raj - the combos with naan are great - garlic naan is very good. There is the typical fare of rogan josh, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, but hey, it is always good quality and great value at Darby Raj. Comparable to restaurant quality curries but at a fraction of the price and with a very casual outlook.

Good value Indian food. Obviously difficult to get a park anywhere near Darby Street and the shop is quite small, though it makes good takeaway. I love the cheese naan!

Self confessed curry expert. They let me taste before I bought - nicest curry in Newcastle (though too much sugar) but at least it has a bite. Very friendly staff - I would go back

wonder full Indian cuisine, perfect for a night in with the girls or a family feed when you don't feel like cooking. the staff have always been friendly and help full explaining the most unusual meals to you... and for someone not used to Indian food they can get a bit that way... their central and easy to find location in the heart of Newcastle make it an easy meal choice for lunch or dinner... hmmm i think i might go down and have some now

Approximate cost: $8
