We are a small charity requiring our Impact Report (Annual Review) to be printed in booklet format.

The initial contact and quote was handled well and we accepted the quote and paid for the printing. A little while later, instead of receiving the booklets, we receive an email advising that they had not quoted the job correctly and we had to pay another $38 before they would proceed. We (reluctantly) paid that sum immediately.

After several days, we contacted DH to check on progress. They advised that until we paid the additional sum, the job would not proceed. After we confirmed that had been paid upon notification and had a receipt from them (!) we reiterated that we needed the booklets for an upcoming presentation.

DH then advised that the only way to get the printing to us in time for the event was for us to pay an additional $40 overnight freight. We advised them that, having already paid for their quote mistake (many wouldn't) we will not pay anymore.

The event is tomorrow morning at 6:30am ... and we have no booklets !

We suggest you do not use Darkhorse ... they have no pride, honour or integrity ! Find another printer who cares !!!

Constant errors, no apology, no responsibility taken, never respond to communication, makes changes without request, downgrade quality and then charge for the higher quality requested, sneaky, dodgy, no words...........

Hi Melissa, Can you email me on [email protected] ? Id like to dig a little deeper into your experience and find out exactly what happened, and see how I can assist you. We certainly dont go to market in this way ! If you have had an issue with a particular staff member's service Id like to address it for you. Steve Roberts. GM.

I've used Dark Horse for many years now, since I started my first cleaning company. They ALWAYS have the best price, fantastic communication and great quality printing. They will always send through a proof to me and I will always ask them to let me know if something isn't going to print properly so I can amend the artwork. The postage to Perth takes a little longer but that's a given with any printers over east. Really happy with the service I've received over the years. Thanks guys! We'll be using you for all our printing needs for www.mckenziescleaning.com.au as our cleaning business expands it's new branch!

Approximate cost: $575

I didn’t have the best experience unfortunately. While they are fairly cheap, in my experience you get what you pay for.

FUZZY PRINTING
• When I received my business cards some of the writing on my business cards was fussy. When viewed at the correct size on my computer the writing was fine, however not when printed.
• I admit the design I provided them should really have had larger writing, however I’m surprised they would send me a large amount of business cards with writing that isn’t legible. The reason they gave me for the fuzzy writing was that the text was too small/thin for the printer to print.
• I now have to get the business cards reprinted and asked if they could offer a discount to get them redone given my circumstance, however they were not prepared to offer anything at all. I was told afterwards that they do offer a free sample to be sent in advance which is great, however I can’t see where this is mentioned in any of the 6 odd email communications that I received. Must be on their webpage I guess.
• Even where the text is larger, the quality / pixels is not very good. I've had letterhead printed using the same resolution graphics by another company which is perfect, so not sure why the business cards don't have the same sharp look.

NOT THE FASTEST
• They advertise a fast turnaround (on average 3-5 days), however it was four days before I even received the first proof and 2 weeks in total to receive the cards. So not that long really, but not what I would call fast. I didn’t take more than one day to review and update the proofs on my side.
• I also received redundant automatic notifications (e.g. please upload your graphics after I already had). Not a biggy, but meant I add to send them another message to make sure they had everything.

Given my experience I certainly won’t be using them again, but others may have better luck!

I was buying business cards for the first time, and they were very helpful. Sent me a hard copy and even helped me out when I accidentally put in my order twice. The cards just arrived and I am SO HAPPY with them. They are great quality (not flimsy or grainy like you can get from other cheap places) and I would highly recommend them. I'm definitely going back to them again!

I Recently ordered custom die cut Swing tags from darkhorse and found them extremely helpful and professional.
The proofing system that they use is very easy to use and clear to understand, with all the information included in the proof and easy steps through the delivery and payment options.
When speaking to the designers in regards to my custom job they explained everything clearly and in a way that i could understand (not being a graphic designer myself).
I would highly recommend Darkhorse for any printing needs and i will definitely be using them for all my future printing.
Thank you Darkhorse team!!

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. **I ordered business cards from them based on the 3-5 day turnaround advertised on their website as I had a reasonably tight deadline (9 business days). **Dark Horse sent me someone else's business cards by mistake and I then spent another 5 days being told my cards had been delivered to a newsagent (an agent of the courier), and they would be redelivered to me. **This never happened and, despite asking Dark Horse several times to reprint/resend my cards as the
original ones were clearly lost, I ended up having to spend an additional $500 with another supplier to arrange for my cards to be printed at short notice to meet my deadline.**Dark Horse would not reimburse me for this additional cost which was the result of their failure and instead made reference to 'we do not guarantee delivery within 3-5 days because our courier doesn't guarantee that to us'.**Their terms and conditions are nowhere to be found on their website or anywhere during the ordering/payment process and I don't know why they think their separate contractual arrangement with their courier is relevant to the representations about 3-5 day turnaround that they make to their customers. I was also told they had 'done everything' to get my cards to me, yet they would not consider reprinting them. Surely that's what other suppliers would do to rectify this sort of problem and ensure customer satisfaction
