"The Dunes" restaurant takes advantage of the perfect location, right on the beach with beautiful sweeping views of the ocean.

The food and drinks are quite good quality, but you do pay for it here. Nothing comes cheap at this restaurant.

The ambiance is quite good, the place can feel quite cozy all year round.

The chairs and tables are quite okay, and the overall set up is good.

I generally go there for snacks such as cakes and slices with a milkshake. It's not often I have a meal there, but when I do, as I said, the quality is good.

Prices ideally could be lower, but if they are putting in top notch ingredients into their dishes they may not be able to make it too much cheaper.

Approximate cost: $25

The food is thoughtfully prepared and well served. What you're really 'buying' here is the fantastic view and the food is a bonus. The ideal place to take out of town visitors.

This cafe was quite overpriced - but expected as it is the only cafe in the area. Does nice milkshakes and is in a very good location.

Approximate cost: $slightly expensive

The Dunes Cafe is set in the Dunes right on Ocean Grove's main beach and has the most incredible view you can see the whole beach from Point Lonsdale to Barwon Heads. The Dunes is open year round and it's best to book around for a table on the weekend as its a VERY popular cafe especially on a fine day. The food is a little pricey but nice. They do offer a specials board with a nice selection of open sandwiches and focaccia's however they don't change very often.
If you a room left after your meal they have a large section of yummy cakes, biscuits and slices to choose from. :)
I have attended a few events at the Dunes and it makes the perfect location for a party.

You don't come here for the coffee, cake or service as these are all average. But the view is incredible!!

The views here are magnificent. I tend to only go to the Dunes cafe over summer and it's always very busy. The cakes are delicious. They have a good range on the menu but service tends to be slow and not very friendly. I just go for the view and the yummy cakes.

The Dunes cafe is situated in the sand dunes near the Ocean Grove main beach. The view is magnificent and the food is really good too. The breakfasts are great and are particularly popular on special occasion days such as Mother's day and Father's Day. The coffee and cake is pretty good too.

As a local at Ocean Grove every time we have visited the Dunes we have left disappointed. We keep going back though, maybe in hope it will improve as the location is to die for! service is always slow and quite unfriendly. The ordering system is good though especially if you want to split bills. Kids menu not great and the specials, well, I wouldnt call them very special. I hope they do improve as would love to be able to write a positive review.

Approximate cost: $20.00

The best thing about this cafe is the view! Set above the Ocean Grove Life Saving Club, there are 180 degree views taking in Point Lonsdale, out to sea and around to Barwon Heads Bluff. Often busy on weekends and the coffee and food is above average, but the view is what it's all about.

Approximate cost: $16.00
