The day I met Dr Jo Kavanagh was the first day of the rest of my life. I was an extreme alcoholic and psychological mess. I've never met a person with such sincere empathy and understanding of the disease of alcoholism. This is a mere tip of the iceberg of her talents. My admiration for Dr Jo is ... Dr. Josephine Kavanagh is, without a doubt, the best medical practitioner I have ever had the privilege to work with. Her compassionate nature allows her to practice medicine as an art as well as a science. As a Type II alcoholic, I truly believe that I would not be alive today were it not for Dr. Kavanagh's ongoing support. For three years Dr. Kavanagh patiently assisted me and provided me with the support that I desperately need to begin my journey back to good health. I am proud to say that Dr. Kavanagh has rekindled my desire to undertake the study of medicine, which, throughout the course of my alcoholism, I had abandoned.
