The vanilla slice is delicious! Super busy our first visit one weekend for lunch. It was chaos actually. Wasn't clear you have to take a ticket when you arrive and then wait for your number to place your order. It otherwise appeared as though people were queuing - as there was nowhere else to wait. Unfortunately the pie selection was limited at the time, but we got a vanilla slice anyways and it was worth it.

This place is in desperate need of a renovation. Whilst the beer might be good, the food and service left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately first impressions stick. I wouldn't recommend this place and unless there was a change, I wouldn't go back.

Can't go past the "Yummiest Ever Vegie Burger". It really is the best! Great menu and specials board. Retro surrounds, it's a real pleasure to eat here. Service is good. Can get busy though especially on weekends, so it pays to book ahead.

This is easily the best take-away in Gisborne. Consistently great pizzas. Awesome customer service. Great menu, good prices - love this place.

Have had take-out here a handful of times in the past few months. Extremely hit and miss. Twice they have mucked up our order. Neither time were we offered compensation for our inconvenience. The food is generally very nice, except they don't listen when requesting "mild". Also the curries lack content - lots of sauce, very little filling. We really wanted to like this place. Perhaps they do it better for eat-in. Our last visit it took an HOUR to get our food, suspect they forgot us in the kitchen. Then we arrived home only to find the order was incorrect again! On return, they took the food and gave us a refund but no more food! We had to eat elsewhere. I doubt we'll go back now. Customer service is of the worst I've experienced, especially bad in a small town.

I purchased a Modkat from the USA in 2010 before the product was available in Australia. Recently whilst cleaning it I snapped the lid clip. D&C is now the Australian distributor for this product. Andrew offered outstanding customer service in helping me replace this item. This business was prompt and professional and I would not hesitate to purchase from D&C in the future. Modkat is a fantastic product, and it's great to have an Australian distributor for this and other great products otherwise not available or incredibly expensive to import as an individual. Highly recommend.

Impressive breakfast list (caters for vegetarians and the gluten intolerant) it was hard to settle on just one dish. The Hangover did not disappoint. The produce was quality, well presented and tasted fantastic. Fresh juice served in bottles and the paper bag menu were quaint. Excellent atmosphere with a trendy interior, we found the staff to be prompt and polite. Already looking forward to our next visit to sample more of the menu.

I regularly purchase a vegetable pastie with sauce and an iced donut at this bakery for lunch while working. Their vegetable pastie is DELICIOUS. You can actually see the vegetables, not the usual mash you normally expect in a pastie. Service is tops. Prices are very reasonable. Co-workers often purchase a hot chicken roll. This is a great little bakery!

What's so radical about these groceries? They're completely guilt free! An ethical, sustainable grocery store. Everything is vegan, organic and fair trade. Currently in a small shop on Sydney Road this store is moving to bigger premises in 2011 which is going to be excellent. Check out the products online. This place is great! A must if you are vegan.
