After a very bad experience here a few years back I promised myself: never to go back to the Elephant Boy.

Friends talked me into trying it again on a day trip to the Southern Highlands, have to admit that it has improved since my last visit, but put aside the decoration and appearance and it's really only average.

Not very friendly and very slow service.

We stumbled in during the lunch hour with no space to sit and eat except the leather sofa! What a choice! The decor is fantastic and Claudia Le Duc, the manager, has a happy team of willing and helpful staff to support her themed cafe. No business cards available but plenty of summer tarts, cheesecake and other pastry items to satisfy a hunger. We love this place and will happily return again.

My all time favourite cafe of the entire area. Excellent food, the most amazing atmosphere, and amazing staff. Could spend all day here.

My daughter loves this cosy cafe. Full of old books to read if you wish. Whilst having a yummy meal. And coffee.

Had a lovely time early in the day for breakfast. Some new recipes would be great. This place is consistent in quality, a little crammed but right for bowral to keep warm at this time. Prices need to be more competitive but you will not feel disappointed, just missing the wow factor for me. Parking in Bong bong st is a pain and time is short so park up near coles or woolies. This place will continue to provide good value with access to books and old time visuals.

Approximate cost: $19

The service here really needs improvement. The place was super busy when we visited but that doesn't excuse rudeness. I think the amount of people stuffed in to the place feels cramped, not cosy. The food is decent. Would hesitate to recommend to others.

Lovely little cafe in the center of Bowral. It has such a warm environment with home cooked food and the retaurant is full of books that you can read whilst you wait for your food.

Approximate cost: $15
